...Once when I decided to buy speakers for my PC, I decided to opt for Altec Lansing since it has got reputation to provide good musical experience. Now I have been using it for the last one and half years. I feel that the provision to individually control tone and bass is very useful. Once when I started to use I understood that it responds more to the beats than the lyrics or voice of the singer. Hence it is very good to listen for Rock or Jazz like western music in it rather than the romantic or classical type songs. Its always best to keep the bass low compared to the tone to have a good experience with i.Further the main volume control provision is more useful to control volume instantly. ...I have been using these speakers since past 8 months, I went for Altec Lansing as I had heard its speakers on HP laptops.. I found it decent enough.. I was sick of buying the same Creative speakers, so I went for them.. And they came out to be amazing.. Even at highest volumes, the sound is still crisp and clear.. They are really amazing and have great value for money.. Watching movies, playing games and listening to music, its made for everthing.. Its good for a room, loud enough.. The best thing that this has and many other speakers dont is that it has control for bass and treble both on the woofer.. The woofer is of good capacity too.. One drawback is its speaker connections.. It doesnt have the plug to connect speakers to the woofer instead, it has wires which have to be put in.. On the whole, these speakers are worth every... Advantages: Excellent sound quality and looks.
Disadvantages: Bass hum at low levels

...Bought these as replacement speakers for my PC. Easy to set up and sounds like a dream. Good clear sounds from all three speakers. The bass in particular is excellent and very powerful. Can deliver clear speech as well as music. The satellite speakers are excellent considering their size. Having had these speakers for a little while now, the only fault I can find is that when you turn the bass volume down, it emits an audible hum which is hugely annoying. Therefore, when watching films/programs, you either have to put up with the audible hum or ridiculous amount of bass. There doesn't seem to be any mid point between no hum and ridiculous bass.
