Advantages: Handy eway to store portable data. Disadvantages: A bit pricey
...I have used this flash key for mainly transferring JPG photos and word documents. It has proved to be an efficient and useful device. It appears to be a pretty robust piece of technology. USB (Universal Serial Bus) is now a fairly common standard port for desk top PCs and laptops. Most computers now have these ports to enable plug-and-play capacity. Various devices such as printers, scanners and cameras can be connected to these ports to transfer data. Memory keys are useful as a means of storing lots of text files for example, digital photos or Mp3 files.
Although the Amacom USB2 Flash Drive has a capacity of 2GB, the amount of data you will actually be able to store on it will be slightly under 1GB. This is because all flash drives use up some of their memory capacity by the software already installed on them. It is this software...

Advantages: Additional capacity - worked out of the box Disadvantages: None
...I totally agree with first reviewer. Worked out of the box. I partitioned the 400 GB into two drives using Partition Magic 8 (which had previously baulked at a 160 GB internal HDD) and am using one for storage of digital images (duplicates to CD/DVD backups). Mine, even after three hours use, did not get hot - rather a nice warm value. It works very quietly and I can fully recommend this make and model as exceptionally good and extremely good value for money. When I think back to the 40 MB disc I used for years (Drivespaced, too) I cannot but think what fantastic value for money this is. As a supplement to my internal 2 X 120 GB HDDs, it will provide an additional capacity for my growing storage of high quality digital images (I am now a retired PRO Photographer and teacher of, says he blushingly, high international reputation)...

Advantages: Fast Small and 80GB! Disadvantages: Nothing really
...After getting myself into the whole iMovie and DV camcorder thang, I realised that the tiny harddrive (10 Gb) in my iBook was not enough (1 hour of DV footage takes up 13 Gb), so I started looking for alternatives.
As Firewire is the only high speed connection on the laptop, I looked around. Most 30-40GbHarddrives for Firewire (Also Sony i.Link) were £250, but I saw this one by Maxtor - 80 Gb for under £350.
The Box is smaller than I thought, and Graphite and ice to match the iBook, but it does come with an ugly and propriety power supply.
Very fast was my first reaction. It can stream DV footage without any dropped frames - and thats 5 Mbytes/s. So, unless you are doing pro DV or something really demanding there is no point in buying the 75Gbdrives out there that cost over £700 - the extra little bit of speed is really...
