I placed an order for a VCR on 8th November, the availability stated on the web site was 1-2 weeks. After 2 weeks I contacted them and a revised delivery date of 4th - 11 Dec was given. I checked several times that the revised date would be met since it was important to me that I received the VCR by 11th December. On 10th Dec 2.10pm I received an email confirming it would be dispatched on 10th December. On 11th December I checked the details on my account on the web site and saw that the delivery date was now after 7th January 2004 ! The web pg for the item still states 1-2 weeks availability !
Amazon claim they will email you if delivery dates change but they have only emailed me after I have contacted them. It seems to be pointless contacting them with a question because they either don't answer the question or provide incorrect information.
I have ordered a number of items from them in the past and there have been various problems with some of the orders, after this last one I am extremely unlikely to order from them again.
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
As below - let me know if you update & I will gladly rerate. I have used Amazon approx 30 times since 1999 and never had any problems with them.

Sort of same thing happened to me, but they apologised to me for the delay, and I got a free voucher. I found their customer service to be top notch, and very good. Although it wasn't an emergency for me. Matt x

Hi and welcome to Ciao, to get higher ratings you need to do a full review on the sevices offered by Amazon, I use them mainly for the books but they do offer a lot of different goods and all at one site. This is what people will expect to find when they read a review on a Company.
