Now I know there are loads of reviews on here for Amazon but I thought if everyone else can write them so can I!!! I have used Amazon for buying loads of books, CD's and other cheapish goods but this review will concentrate on the purchasing of my Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet. I have wanted to buy a tablet for a while and after a great deal of research on the net and some good reviews from friends I decided to go for this tablet.
I decided to buy on Amazon because I have always had a good experience and i trust them with what I have bought. In the very beginning I searched for the tablet using the basic search function on the home page and this brought up a page showing all the things related to the tablet I had chosen - luckily what I was looking for was the very first option (I knew I wanted the most basic version without 3G). When I had clicked on this option it brought up a new page with lots of information on it. It also made it clear that the tablet was sold by another company but that the transaction would take place through Amazon.
This information included pictures and videos which I have to say I found quite useful as they gave me extra information about the tablet. On this page there were also lots of technical details, product details and product specs, this information was all very useful as it talked about the screen size, RAM, Processor Speed, graphics, etc all the kind of things that are useful when purchasing hardware.
The largest and most useful section was the Manufacturers Description that went into far more detail on things like communication, google services, connectivity and touch wiz 4.0, this was really useful for a tablet novice like me.
The bottom of the page was the links to all the customer reviews, which are rated 1* to 5*. This made me laugh as there were basically either 1* or 5* reviews so it was either great or rubbish, but it did make me wonder who actually wrote the reviews, a bit like some of the reviews for websites that appear on this site.
Anyway that's enough of the information, having digested all this information, I decided to take the leap and purchase so I clicked on the add to basket and then proceeded to the checkout. This is where I like Amazon, all my details are stored and I can simply click on the payment type I want and then checkout. I received an email confirming my order within about 2 minutes and felt confident that my tablet would be with me soon. The email also had the information I needed to be able to track my purchase and said it would be with me within three days. When I checked the tracking the first day it said the tablet was at the Droitwich office, on the second day at the Reading office and on the third day with the courier being delivered - to me this was excellent service.
The price of £384 also seemed good when compared to other places on the net and that was part of the reason for the purchase - Amazon do seem to have reasonable prices.
My only slight concerns and quibles were that, the courier on delivering the package didn't realise my wife was on the way to the door, so was planning to leave the package on the doorstep - not something I would have been overly happy with!!!!
However, I would definately recommend Amazon to anyone purchasing on the the internet, good service and clear communication. When I get to the stage that I am exploring all of the aspects of the Samsung Galaxy I will write a full review - at the moment the review would be wow that's cool and that doesn't help anyone!!!
