Why is it that all the Ciao surveys that I get sent nowadays only have a reward of 10p? Or am I the only one that's getting those ones? Alexandra x (arrrrgggghhhh - it's gotten worse, the last one I received was only 5p!)

I saw this on special offer (B.O.G.O.F) in Superdrug just before my last holiday. What a bargain I thought as this normally retais at £6.99 per bottle (150ml).
This just serves to remind me that some items are on special offer for a reason.
***The Product*** The product is easily identifiable as part of the Ambre Solaire product range, coming in a blue and white flip top tube which stands on its lid that has a large Garnier Ambre Solaire logo at the top and can usually be found with their other sun products in Boots, Superdrug and other major retailers.
The after sun is advertised as being a soothing, hydrating moisturiser specially developed to rebalance dehyrdrated and over-heated skin caused by excessive skin exposure together with low levels of self tanning ingredients to subtly enhance and deepen your tan.
It contains glycerol and vitamin, is suitable for both face and body and is detmatologically tested.
***My Experience*** This product sounded great.
It worked okay as an after sun, the rather runny lotion was fairly easily absorbed into your skin and didn't leave a sticky residue, plus the scent wasn't unpleasant and not too overpowering or girlie. My skin always felt nice and smooth after use.
One 150ml bottle lasted the two of us approximately 5 days (we ended up using nearly 3 bottles during the 2 week holiday)
It's the self-tan element that I have an issue with.
You are recommended to wash your hands immediately after application, which we did but after only 2 days both my husband and I had develped bright orange palms. We had to resort to obtaining a pair of rubber gloves from the very helpful lady who came to clean our room so that we no longer had to use our hands to apply the after sun. We were scared that people would mistake us for tango drinkers. It was another 3 days before the orange gradually faded to a less embarassing shade.
The colour didn't look as bad on the rest of our bodies (having a bit of a tan subdues the colour somewhat) but I did still feel a little self conscious about the colour. Ee could only conclude that it was because our hands were whiter than anywhere else.
I was definitely glad that I hadn't put this anywhere near my face!!!
***Conclusion*** For me this is not a good product so I have only given it two stars. Without the self tan I would have rated it much higher - although the consistency of the lotion was too runny for my liking.
I feel that the self tan levels are too high, so where you are expecting just a subtle hint of colour to help your tan along you end up with hands that look like they've been tangoed.
If you are already quite brown this product might suit you as the orange colour would be somewhat subdued by the brown of your tan but overall I would not recommend it.

I think Ill avoid this ,too.! I tried a similar product from Johnson just before the good weather .wanting just a subtle colour before getting a tan. My skin went a false looking pale orange. Luckily, I didnt put any on my face either so was able to cover up & venture out. Its put me off any moisturiser with a tanning agent. Lyn.
