There is nothing worse than sunburn. It hurts, it burns and it makes your skin feel all sore and dry and nasty. Luckily there are things that can take the sting out of it.

PRODUCT
Ambre Solaire After Sun is an amazing product that you use after exposure to the sun whether you have burnt or not. If you are not burnt, it rehydrates and refreshes the skin, making it feel really soft and smooth. It is really cooling and soothing, which is lush after you get all hot and bothered. If you have burnt it also does all of the above and you skin will feel much calmer than it did.

What is really good about this product is that it is really moisturising, so helps to prevent peeling and prolong the tan. There is nothing worse than getting a nice tan, burning slightly, then peeling all over and ruining it all. With this aftersun, it can be stopped.

Laboratories Garnier Paris makes this product, which is a very reputable make. I know that I have purchased a high quality product that was worth the money I spent on it.

PACKAGING
The product comes in a medium pale blue, which to me suggests that it is cooling. It has the product description in a darker blue writing and subheadings in white writing. It has a small yellow strip, but apart from that, that is it. It comes in a long bottle, with the top part rounded off. It has a flip top lid that makes it easy to open and to close. I do like this packaging. The blue does stand out, and it does look pretty smart in appearance. I have noticed that the photo shows a white bottle, but it has been sold in a blue bottle for a couple of years now.

PRICE
This aftersun cost me £3.90 in the co-op. I think this price does vary from place to place, but I thought that this was very reasonable for the product that I was purchasing and especially as it is more than just an average moisturiser.

WHERE TO BUY FROM
You can buy this aftersun in numerous places. Boots, Superdrug, Co-op, Tescos and local chemists are to name but a few. There are loads of places to buy aftersun, as it is a very popular product to buy.

OTHER BENEFITS
This product contains Aloe Vera, a well-known plant, that’s extract is very beneficial to the skin. Aloe Vera is well known for its cooling and calming properties. The aftersun is also non-greasy, so there are no more problems with clothes sticking to you afterwards.

APPLICATION
This product can be used anytime after exposure to the sun, but is at its best after you have had a bath or shower as it locks in the moisture the water has put in your skin. Put it generously over all of your skin and you should see the benefits.

SMELL
This product smelt very lovely. It reminds me of warm summer holiday evenings, but that may just be because I take it on holiday every year! It is quite a fresh smell.

WHAT DID I THINK OF IT?
I am very impressed with this product. This and one other aftersun (in a future opinion) are my absolute essentials when going on holiday or even at home (I live right next to the sea with some lovely beaches). It is very fast absorbed and even a minute after application there is no trace of the aftersun on my skin, just softer and more soothed skin. I absolutely love it.

ADVANTAGES
There are many advantages to this product. They include the fact that it is easily absorbed, very cooling, contains aloe Vera, non-greasy, smells nice, high quality and reasonably priced.

DISADVANTAGES
I cannot think of any real disadvantages to this product apart from if you are really and truly badly sunburnt, it won’t provide an instant magical cure for it.

OVERALL
I am very impressed with this product and will continue to use it for years to come. I recommend it to all people, as it is suitable for all of the family. One last note, Do not use this before you go into the sun as it does not protect your skin from sunburn, it just cools it down afterwards.
