Advantages: easy to set up,very efficient Disadvantages: bulky
Living in an older house can have many problems, not least condensation and damp.
Our heating bills were going through the roof, downstairs was warm enough during the winter months but upstairs was always cold with condensaton running down the windows every morning.
Last winter we decided to buy a de-humidifier. After shopping around we found the amcorHD4E at argos at around £160.00 and free delivery.
Setting it up was easy, just place it where you intend to use it and leave to settle for 24 hours.
Next day plug it in and switch on.
This model has two fan speeds and a variable humidistat. We ran it on the highest settings for a couple of days to start with and it was extracting an unbelievable 12 litres of water. After the first few days we lowered the settings, within a week the whole house was warmer, we even turned ...
Advantages: Preformance, Economy, choice of trim, extras Disadvantages: reliability - Expensive turbo failure, Rear Seat Space, Boot Space
This is my first BMW, and I am sorry to say my last. The 320d has a reputation for turbo failure, which I believe applies only to pre July 2003 models. This failure can happen at any time regardless of service history and so cannot be predicted or circumvented and is a widely publicised failure amongst 320d owners on the internet!. The cost of repairing this vary between £2000 - £3000 and is not something which I would expect from a name like BMW.
Other drawbacks include driver comfort, which is virtually non existant, after 15 mins in the drivers seat you rapidly experience another feature of the 320D - namely BMW "Numb Bum", which I must admit was not publicised in the brochure. The driving position is also somewhat strange.
Both rear seat and boot space are limited and certainly not inline with the size of vehicle, and all BMW ...

Advantages: Stylish, and efficent Disadvantages: better engine coming soon
I have now owned my 320D SE 05 plate BMW for just over 2 years and I must say i am very very happy, I do apporx 35,000 miles per year and the drive, comfort, fuel efficency and build quality are second to none, the style is very attractive and differs from the old 3 series dramatically. I get approx 48 mile per gallon which for this type of car is very impressive. I know BMW are now working on the revamped diesel engine which gives even more fuel efficency and even better miles per gallon, there is also an advantage with the new engine on CO2 levels for company drivers as this is set to be around 131 which based on the current model would save a typical 22% tax payer a good amount of money. ...
