Being on lots of meds for my health means I could not drink, even if I wanted to, a good friend introduced me to a drink called Ame as a celebratary drink at the christening of thier 1st child. Now there are various ones in thier range, with names reflecting the Martini products.

The Ame range is ideal to keep in stock for the festive period for people who don't drink or for people that are going to be driving throughout Christmas and the New Year

Ame's price is around £1.99 per bottle and comes in Sweet, Crisp Dry, Rose and Red, so sounds like wine, even smells a little like wine too. The drink comes in glass bottles, (not plasic like some soft drinks) All the ranges of Ame are lightly sparking. The amount you get per bottle is 750ml of this nice drink. Ame can be purchased at Morrisons, Asda or Tesco, those are the stores that deffinatly sell it,, I could not tell you though of others as we don;t have any other major supermarket near by. Sadly the smaller shops seem not to sell this product, and I feel off licences should include it as it is an alternative for those who drive a lot, but want something to compliment a good meal.

This drink is also low caloried as it contains no sugar or sweetners.. and contains only 23 calories per 100 ml of this product, so is ideal for people on a diet, also for people with diabetes too

The one which I like the best is the Ame Dry. This one is very much like a Non-Alcholic Champagne for flavour and texture. I have seen me pour this product into champagne flutes for special occassions and people drinking this product have said it was the closest they had ever had to a nice crisp champagne and yet it contained no alcohol at all! That has taken so many by suprise!

The difference with Ame it is a Spring Water based drink flavoured with fruits and exotic herbs giving a nice flavour and aroma to the drink.

In the Crisp Dry which I drink, Ingredients are as follows..

Carbonated Spring Water, fruit juices (25% apple, 16% grape, 4% passionfruit) Malic acid, natural flavourings, herbal extract (limeflower, Schisandra, jasmine Gentian)

This drink like any good wine is best served chilled, and can compliment any good meal or be used a nice celebratory drink, The bonus wit this, you can drink as much as you want and still be able to drive as there is nothing in it other than natural ingredients.

This drink was used also as a toast at a friends wedding at the Salvation Army in Bradford a few years ago, and the amount of people that was suprised at it being non alcholic was amazing.. A lot of her guests where used to drinking and was suprised to find out how much like a nice wine this tasted, yet they was safe to go and drive home afterwards.

Anyone driving over Christmas Drive safe. Don't want to hear of any of my friends from Ciao hurt in anyway.
Thanks for reading
Lynn-marie

Never heard of it before, will definately be giving it a go... don't drink much these days (due to lack of funds for a trip to Oz) so it would be nice to have something other than water with my T :)

My partner and I treat ourselves to 3 bottles each week ... only 1.78 from our local Tesco store! It's delicious and good for the digestion too. Plus, you can recycle the glass bottles after use. An informative review!

I bet Alcoholics Anonymous would jump around in happiness if they knew about this drink. Dan...
