Cambridge Audio C/P500 Pre/Power Amp
Review of Cambridge Audio P500 by
Rorty-Corty
Advantages: Audiophile quality design and build
Disadvantages: takes up more shelves on your hi-fi rack and needs more cables. Big Deal!!!
...of a mash. However, the Cambridge Audio amps (along with the Mission 734i's) don't miss a beat with every guitar chord and drum beat being easily identifyable.
As an aside, my sister in laws boyfriend is in a rock band and brought round a studio recording of there music. He had heard it on various other set-ups but was astounded as to how clear and 'real' it sounded on this equipment and is now looking for some himself.
The other review on this ... ...results. I cannot coment on this as I haven't try'd it but I have to say I have no problems with the C500. It might come down to differences in Speakers and source equipment and of course the room size, shape & layout. Having said that, if I get the chance to try another pre-amp I'll certainly give it a go.
They should be cheap to buy as they were only £150 new (reduced to £100 later on when being phased out) and for the money you won't find better!

THE MASTER Amplifier
Review of Pioneer A109 by
oki82
Advantages: PRODUCES NICE AND LOUD SOUND
Disadvantages: LOOKS OLD.
...first time of using any pioneer product and I am now comfortable with it in the sense that I have not gotten any problem with it. Very vigorous and produces very nice sound. EASE Of INSTALLATION.
This is where I got a little problem initially. The major problem with this is that the wire pots at the back are quite difficult to trace in many cases. In my case, when I disconnect it from my speaker, I find it difficult to trace the correct pots where ... ...confusing because there are many wire pots available at the back of the amplifier
That is the only problem with the amplifier and apart from that, there are no other problems with it.
EASE OF USE.
Apart from problem of wire tracings and connections, there are no other problems. The device is the easiest to use. You only control the sound by bass and treble, the max and so on.
ITS POWER CONSUMPTIONS.
Its power consumption is quite moderate. It ...

Review of Cambridge Audio AZUR 640A by
SexySaab
Advantages: Sound,detail,build,remote,features,style,and price!
Disadvantages: Marantz and Nad are catching up!
...unheard a few years ago,but Cambridge have floored all opponents in this very competitive section of the hifi world!
All the Azure range is incredible!(Ammp,cd players,DVD players,AV amps,etc)!
The mid range of the Azure can be bettered, but you will have to spend more and some people have complained of the balance at low volumes, but this has not been the case with my own amp!
It caters for all types of music and is set to be a legend in its own ... ...5
Phono stage: No
Headphone socket: Yes
Yes music comes to life with the Cambridge 640 a v2!
I don't know how Cambridge Audio can produce such quality for the money, but i ain't complaining!
This amp comes highly recommended by me and probably thousands of more hifi buffs!
Buy it! ...

NAD 306 INTEGRATED AMP
Review of NAD 306 by
Salad378
Advantages: Powerfull warm sound, plenty of bass, lots of connectivity, phono stage.
Disadvantages: neighbours might hate you, headphones don't cut the sound.
I bought this lovely amp in mid 1990's after a long search for a reasonably priced amp to power my TDLRTL3 floorstanding speakers with a need to satisfy my love of BIG WARM BASS from reggae to funk to drum and bass etc. .When the neighbours are out I can shake the windows and feel the bass as if I was at a gig!! It is a thrilling experience. But also this combination worked for my love of Jazz and whilst playing at a low volume the double bass would ... ...stage for mm and mc which I needed as well as good tape connectivity. Plus a video input for watching films as well as tuner and aux. The pre amp can easily be seperated from the slave so it can be used as just a preamp or a slave. I never thought I'd ever think of another amp untill recently when it developed a fault in the right hand channel of the slave amp. It has become distorted after about 15 years of use. I hope to get this repaired so I ...
