The Meridian 105 power ampliers come as two pairs of boxes, each channel is amp + power supply. I had went along to Graham's Hi-fi back in 1978 and they encouraged people to listen to their own equipment along side that which the sales assistant short listed for you. So I packed my Cambridge P80 and JR149 speakers and Transciptor Turntable. I had found the P80 lacking, when used with the JR149. First to note that when paired with a pair of Kef 104 ...

...- and I like the NAD C 352. The fact that it is extremely plain looking is not a problem for me, but the huge remote control handset is wholly unnecessary for my needs. If, like me, you play music through your PC then this is a great bit of kit which is easy to connect and control - mainly because there aren't too many buttons! I have got the NAD C 352 connected to Arcam Solo speakers + sub (without the CD player head unit) and the sound is amazing ...

...of a mash. However, the Cambridge Audio amps (along with the Mission 734i's) don't miss a beat with every guitar chord and drum beat being easily identifyable. As an aside, my sister in laws boyfriend is in a rock band and brought round a studio recording of there music. ...results. I cannot coment on this as I haven't try'd it but I have to say I have no problems with the C500. It might come down to differences in Speakers and source equipment and of course the room size, shape & layout. Having said that, if I get the chance to try another pre-amp I'll certainly give it a go. They should be cheap to buy as they were only £150 new (reduced to £100 later on when being phased out) and for the money you won't find better! ... Read review
