Marantz PM66-SE
Review of Marantz PM 66 SE by RuneArnesen

Advantages: Features, durability, looks and abilities as a Dolby 2.0 Receiver
Disadvantages: Poor control over demanding music, weak midrange and a general lack of muscles.

...well. Almost as I suspect Marantz to have tried to make a Stereo Receiver for a Stereo Home Teather instead of a straight forward stereo amp. I 'd recommend it for shelf speakers or small floor standing speakers, if high-end isn't your main objective. But more demanding speakers will strip this amp to the bone. I've tested it on a couple of SEAS Avantis and a couple of QLN 603 mkIIs and I changed back to my old Dynaco 2x50 power amp which is overall ...
...class A and lot's og power, but just want an amp that plays NICE, this is a good alternatvie. As a background music amp (or a Dolby 2.0 Receiver), it's more than be sufficiant. Else; Buy something else. This is not Marantz finest moment and is not for "feinschmeckers". ... Read review

Good looking, great sounding and very loud!
Review of Marantz PM 4001 by djspellbound

Advantages: Good looking, great sounding and very loud! lots of inputs and even a record-output!
Disadvantages: I can't think of any!

Great! Sounds awsome, Looks awsome, loud and robust! I have it in black which suits the rest of my setup, i use Whafedale Valdus 400 floorstanding speakers at 150 watts each (long term) and a mission M70c2 Centre speaker at 125 watts (long term) to broaden the frequency range, together they work like a charm! The amplier has many inputs which is useful for me since i have my TV, decks, laptop, CD player and My IPod plugged into it which all sound ... Read review

marantz pm7200 experience
Review of Marantz PM7200 by cksmith75

Advantages: Loads of different features 90 watt per channel
Disadvantages: size weigth and over heating

When i saw the the spec of this amp i was so over the moon i just needed to get it. I thought all of this for this amount of money no way what a true bargain indeed. So with out a second thought i purchased it and this is why i am writing this review for the ciao users so they can have that second thought. Any way I brought it home and got my mate to set it all up as he knows what he doing with this sort of equipment. i started checking out all the ...
...with a new toy that was how much excitment. The system towerd over the room just like how i wanted it to with my cd player on top of it. the amp was working perfectley and the quality i was just amazing specially with the A class mode feature. Plus with the power of 90 watts per channel the amp shown no signs of struggling. i found the tone controls of being able to change the bass and the treble to preicley how i want to a great adavantage i had ... Awsome 80's integrated amplifier.
Review of Marantz PM 94 by brams

Advantages: Imensly capable integrated amp, awesom sound quality
Disadvantages: Gets very hot due to class A operation, no remote

As mentioned elsewhere, this heavyweight is very likely the best integrated amplifier ever made. 150 watts RMS into 8 ohms and about 290 watts RMS into 4 ohms. I've had two of these, used in a bi-amped configuration since 1991 and absolutely love them. Works in class A mode for about the first 25% of the volume dial then goes into class A-B. Wonderfully detailed but also delivers massive amounts of punch if required. The only downside is they run ...
...to hurt if you hold your hand on them for a few seconds, also there's no remote control which is a bit of a pain. Fantastic build quality and the ability to split the Pre-out - Main-in connections is a great bonus, no optical or co-axial digital connectors. Has a great phono stage. ... Read review

Enchanting amp for a fairytale price
Review of Marantz PM7200KI by helencooke01

Advantages: Amazingly clear sound (especially so in Class A), well built
Disadvantages: Very heavy, maybe not visually to some peoples tastes, can get hot in Class A

...Having recently purchased a Marantz Signature amp to complement Mission Floorstanders, my Pioneer amps were beginning look and feel somewhat old. I had been so pleased with the Marantz CD player (a CD-63 mkII KI), and have previously owned Marantz amplifiers, that the decision to buy the PM7200 KI was fairly straightforward. It has been widely proclaimed one of the best dual class amps in the sub-£1000 price bracket, and as someone with not a lot ...
...rarity, let along a Signature Marantz edition. Reading up on the amp in various magazines and websites gave similar verdicts - good build quality and sound, and fairly well priced. Some reviewers noted the fifty percent price increase from the standard PM7200 model. The general consensus was that the KI model was preferable, but if money was a problem, the base model was still a very good amp for the money. For anyone looking to purchase the PM7200 ...
