Surely the amp of the decade!
Review of Musical Fidelity A5 Integrated AMP by Tegretol

Advantages: Simple Operation. Ease of set up. Fantastic value for money. Great sound.
Disadvantages: None

...more than worth paying. The Musical Fidelity ethos has always been something along the lines of , "Why pay through the nose when we can create something outstanding for less than other high end products." So in short the amp will currently cost around the £1499 mark. But I have reasonable faith that this type of sound will not be able to be purchased elsewhere for maybe many times that amount. The amp has it all in abundance. If you want power then ...
...cannot dare to take the amp higher than the twelve o clock mark for fear of waking the dead! Donot expect tone/ bass/ treble buttons on this baby it has none. Its all in the box. The amp does that for you. Dont believe me? Then why not give one a audition yourself. Go on I dare you! A amp really really worth a listen. Rommer O yeah the amp is phono ready and has ports for SCD/ CD/ TUNER/ etc ... Read review

Acoustic Solutions Amplifier SP101
Review of Acoustic Solutions SP100 by Art007

Advantages: Good quality, good value, attractive, multi-functional.
Disadvantages: You get a pathetic wire antenna for DAB/ Tuner

...the risk not knowing what Acoustic Solutions brand was like. So, now I have bought the DAB part of it and I think it's excellent. It has never broken down on me and I would recommend Acoustic Solutions to anybody. It is attractive but not overtly and looks and works as good as any Sony or expensive brand. Argos is pretty much the cheapest place to purchase it from as I did. The unit supports Phono, Tuner, Tape/Aux, CD, DVD and DAB. I believe you ... Read review

vintage classic British amplification from 1978
Review of Meridian 105 by subminiature

Advantages: sound quality, build quality, design
Disadvantages: lacks inputs, which used to be a problem, but isn't anymore

The Meridian 105 power ampliers come as two pairs of boxes, each channel is amp + power supply. I had went along to Graham's Hi-fi back in 1978 and they encouraged people to listen to their own equipment along side that which the sales assistant short listed for you. So I packed my Cambridge P80 and JR149 speakers and Transciptor Turntable. I had found the P80 lacking, when used with the JR149. First to note that when paired with a pair of Kef 104 ...
...was then replaced with the Meridian 104 and 105 mono power amps. This is the only time that the JR149 delivered it full potential, a huge difference in sound quality. Other speakers tested included the Linn Isobaks and I was hooked to finding what else was available at this level and price. Even 30 years on these vintage amplifiers are still in demand. They are compact for something of this quality. The matching 104 Tuner and 101B preamp are understated ... Read review

Excellent amp for my PC and iTunes
Review of NAD C 352 by goodforthecountry

Advantages: beautiful sound, warm mid-range, plenty of power
Disadvantages: Not pretty, over-the-top remote control

...- and I like the NAD C 352. The fact that it is extremely plain looking is not a problem for me, but the huge remote control handset is wholly unnecessary for my needs. If, like me, you play music through your PC then this is a great bit of kit which is easy to connect and control - mainly because there aren't too many buttons! I have got the NAD C 352 connected to Arcam Solo speakers + sub (without the CD player head unit) and the sound is amazing ...
...generated by this "package" and the NAD amp is the key. If you are like me and have always struggled to play music at home without using your main "stereo system" in the lounge (and inflicting your musical tastes on the whole house) then I hope that this helps. ... Read review
