THE MASTER Amplifier
Review of Pioneer A109 by oki82

Advantages: PRODUCES NICE AND LOUD SOUND
Disadvantages: LOOKS OLD.

...first time of using any pioneer product and I am now comfortable with it in the sense that I have not gotten any problem with it. Very vigorous and produces very nice sound. EASE Of INSTALLATION. This is where I got a little problem initially. The major problem with this is that the wire pots at the back are quite difficult to trace in many cases. In my case, when I disconnect it from my speaker, I find it difficult to trace the correct pots where ...
...confusing because there are many wire pots available at the back of the amplifier That is the only problem with the amplifier and apart from that, there are no other problems with it. EASE OF USE. Apart from problem of wire tracings and connections, there are no other problems. The device is the easiest to use. You only control the sound by bass and treble, the max and so on. ITS POWER CONSUMPTIONS. Its power consumption is quite moderate. It ... Read review

Cambridge Azure 640 A V2 Amp
Review of Cambridge Audio AZUR 640A by SexySaab

Advantages: Sound,detail,build,remote,features,style,and price!
Disadvantages: Marantz and Nad are catching up!

...unheard a few years ago,but Cambridge have floored all opponents in this very competitive section of the hifi world! All the Azure range is incredible!(Ammp,cd players,DVD players,AV amps, etc)! The mid range of the Azure can be bettered, but you will have to spend more and some people have complained of the balance at low volumes, but this has not been the case with my own amp! It caters for all types of music and is set to be a legend in its own ...
...5 Phono stage: No Headphone socket: Yes Yes music comes to life with the Cambridge 640 a v2! I don't know how Cambridge Audio can produce such quality for the money, but i ain't complaining! This amp comes highly recommended by me and probably thousands of more hifi buffs! Buy it! ... Read review

NAD 306 INTEGRATED AMP
Review of NAD 306 by Salad378

Advantages: Powerfull warm sound, plenty of bass, lots of connectivity, phono stage.
Disadvantages: neighbours might hate you, headphones don't cut the sound.

I bought this lovely amp in mid 1990's after a long search for a reasonably priced amp to power my TDLRTL3 floorstanding speakers with a need to satisfy my love of BIG WARM BASS from reggae to funk to drum and bass etc. .When the neighbours are out I can shake the windows and feel the bass as if I was at a gig!! It is a thrilling experience. But also this combination worked for my love of Jazz and whilst playing at a low volume the double bass would ...
...stage for mm and mc which I needed as well as good tape connectivity. Plus a video input for watching films as well as tuner and aux. The pre amp can easily be seperated from the slave so it can be used as just a preamp or a slave. I never thought I'd ever think of another amp untill recently when it developed a fault in the right hand channel of the slave amp. It has become distorted after about 15 years of use. I hope to get this repaired so I ... Read review

Review of Marantz PM 4001 by djspellbound

Advantages: Good looking, great sounding and very loud! lots of inputs and even a record-output!
Disadvantages: I can't think of any!

Great! Sounds awsome, Looks awsome, loud and robust! I have it in black which suits the rest of my setup, i use Whafedale Valdus 400 floorstanding speakers at 150 watts each (long term) and a mission M70c2 Centre speaker at 125 watts (long term) to broaden the frequency range, together they work like a charm! The amplier has many inputs which is useful for me since i have my TV, decks, laptop, CD player and My IPod plugged into it which all sound ... Read review

Wow!!!
Review of Arcam DIVA 85 by gingerlosers

Advantages: Yeyy
Disadvantages: Ok

The NAD C 315 BEE stereo integrated amplifier beat the Cambridge Azur 340A SE when the british magazine hi-fi world put them against one another. The C315 BEE received 5 globes out of 5 (in Jan 2008 issue). Sound quality is incredible at this price. Performs beyond specs due to Powerdrive-S and Soft Clipping. Great stereo separation. In my opinion this is by far the best stereo amp at this price! Better than Denon 500 PMA and Cambridge 540A SE. ...
...favor and give this a listen. Beware this is a Stereo integrated amp, so there is no surround. Good Bass. Tone Defeat switch so you can bypass the Treble and Bass control circuits if you're not using them. There is also a Balance control but like the Bass and Treble control you probably don't need them. Bass has a slight bloom, not enough to be problematic though. The Darkness: One Way Ticket to Hell... And Back The C315 delivered excellant detail. ... Read review
