Sont TA-FE370
Review of Sony TA-FE 370 by royms

Advantages: Simple to use, good sound
Disadvantages: maybe too simple for some

The Sony TA-FE370 looks and sounds good, and is simple to use. It is fairly simple to install, although connecting the speaker cables was unneccesarily tricky, the connections could be more user friendly, all the other connections could not be more straight forward. The sound is very clear and any adjustments are easy to make with the easy to use controls. The instructions are very clear and user friendly. This amplifier is ideal for the non hi-fi ... nice thing
Review of Sony TAFE370 by immy257

Advantages: good sound
Disadvantages: not too handy

...came up with denon or sony amps in my price range. so i go and book a sound room, connect up these probably 20 pound of speakers to this sony amp and well... unbeleivable and once some 180 pound mission speakers are added,... it has to be heard to be believed better than any 500w lying rubbish. i also bough the matching cd player and between them even on the crummy speakers it sounds so good, clear bass. i can't wait till i can afford those speakers ...
...though is that this great amp doesnt need all those switches on it, loudness, treble etc. i The quality of the build is suprisngly good for the price as well. as you peer inside through the vents you see the hand built board all spread out not compact computer made rubbish. this is quality. sure you can get better but this is a great amp when you are on a budget. highly recommended as a first hifi separates amp. it was mine and i cant fault it!!! ... Discontinuing this? Are Sony mad?
Review of Sony TAFB940R by peterkinxl5

Advantages: Superb sound quality, ample power, substantial build quality, easy to use remote, easy to set up
Disadvantages: Discontinued so not readily available, no Moving Coil phono stage (see review ) though at this price it's nitpicking.

...my review on my fantastic Sony SCD XB940 SACD player, I mentioned I'd upgraded my worn out Pioneer amp and increased my listening my listening pleasure still furthur. So I thought it was a good idea to review this amp. My Pioneer Amp had started to lose its power after a friend of mine dismantled it in an attempt to upgrade the mains cable. He couldn't fit the cable and managed to trash the amp (Cheers Raj!!). As it happened I was looking for an ...
...going home I passed the Sony Centre in Wolverhampton and tucked away in the far left corner of the shop were some HiFi seperates. Amongst these were two amps namely the entry level TAFB370 at about £120 and this other TAFBE940 priced at £299.00. A quick look told me it had all the basic requirements but I decided not to be rushed into a purchase. So off I went and returned a few days later to see the amp still there and a new price ticket on it at....£249.99!! ... Read review

Just the bizzo
Review of Sony STRDE598 by dobieg

Advantages: Unusually - quite cheap for a SONY, but every bit as good as you'd hope
Disadvantages: no DAB support

...nearly every component with a SONY box, partly because I've always been really happy with their gear, and to take advantage of a compatible set of remotes. The last item on my shopping list was to upgrade the SHERWOOD* tuner/amplifier with an equivalent offering from SONY. There's another reason why I like SONY, and that brings me back to the original joke about handbags; all my separates are black, and SONY happens to be one of the few mainstream ...
...to the amount of effort SONY have gone to in order to offer the best possible reproduction. What my previous SHERWOOD* amplifier lacked in subtlety, this amp appears to offer by the bucketload - the SHERWOOD was described as 'punchy' - which is a polite way of describing as 'harsh' - this is by far a more dignified beast (or perhaps it's just snobbery!) *** Sound features *** Formats supported by the decoder include; Plain STEREO, Pro Logic, Pro ... Sony TAFE370 AMP - Good All round Product
Review of Sony TAFE370 AMP MIDI 70W by broxz

Advantages: Good overal product, connections for CD, AUX, MD, TAPE, TUNER, has optical input, all sony controls integrate with each other
Disadvantages: Only possible to attach 1 set of speakers, no microphone input,

...working, under the guarentee the Sony centre replaced the amp, for no extra charge. There are a range of basic features that the amp has to offer. There are a bass and treble function and the usual balance features. In addition to this there is a speaker on/off switch which have found especially useful when recording. Also this setting is useful when using headphones, etc. Overall I think that this amp is good value for money and offers consumers ... Read review
