...::::INTRODUCTION:::: Sky gave me this box when i signed up to sky multi-room. The box cost £49 with installation, but its free if your a first time subscriber and not getting multi-room! ::::CONNECTIONS:::: There are plenty of connections on this box by Amstrad... You can connect it up to surround sound, share the aerial feed and connect to a vcr or dvd recorder (standard stuff really). There slots to put your sky viewing card and interactive card (like a sky credit card) are stored away under a cover, which adds a nice style to the box. ::::Sound & Picture Quality:::: The sound and picture quality is just like my other sky (grundig) box, but sound and picture are slightly better as the Amstrad box has all the improved data chips and DVB certified stuff etc. The picture is nice on a SD Television, the detail is vibrant and text clear... ...Amstrad CDTV The Amstrad CDTV is a box of tricks that will provide you with hours of good fun. I managed up a 30 pounds for mine new in a special promotion with Tesco. When it first came out not many people bought one, mainly because it has a black and white TV and black and white TV's are no longer popular. Okay so it takes a lot of batteries (nine D cell at last count) but they do last a very longtime (mine have lasted for almost a year now and are still going strong) this CD as of reasonable quality and radio and TV reception are very good too. It comes with the mains adapter as well as a small set of headphones. The unit is rather bulky and is very heavy with batteries in, but the quality is surprisingly good for Amstrad and for the price. The unit is not easy to get hold of anymore, but I'm sure there they will be available... Read review

...Hi, I bought this box to replace my noisy Amstrad DRX280! And it is perfect, i cannot fault it at all. I switched it o with my fingers crossed that it wouldnt be too noisy as i have it in my bedroom. And YES it was virtualy SILENT! I was so pleased, now i cant hear it over the TV at all. You can hear it very occassionally when there is a pause in the program you are watching but its perfectly livable. This box is the best i have ever had, the customer services are fantastic as well. I acceidently snapped off the flap that covers the viewing card, and i couldnt get the thing back on so i emailed Pace. They got back to me the next day asking for my postal address so that they could send me 2 replacement flaps free of charge! I was so impressed again, they sent me 2 of the flaps comletley free of charge, i didnt even have to pay... Read review
