... As Amstrads biggest selling product of the moment, every opportunity is made to show the phone, in sometimes rather pointless shots. ('Jenny, send them through')
We have had this phone for some time, it was given to us, but I believe it retailed at about £99 at the time, but you can get ... Read review

Your Fired! Review ofAmstrad EMAIL2001+by

Advantages: make and recieve calls and emails, loud speaker function Disadvantages: requires power, recieve adverts, expensive to use emails
...irritating feature. These range from Amstrad products to cinema listings, adult chat lines, fast food, games etc. For each advert you have the option to press a button and connect to the 'net' for more information. (obviously at a cost) Having never used this function, I'm unsure how much this would cost. However, I am told that downloading games for instance cost 50p for four games or £1 for a month. This is where the cunning money making starts, ... ...phone had been dialing up every 15 minutes or so to check for emails, and this can get quite costly at aroud 15p per check. Being unaware that the phone was doing this until recently, I have only just discovered that you can turn this function off so that it does not dial up. Sending a text, again, something I haven't done from the phone costs an additional 50p per text. The adverts are also another temptation to part with more money and lure you ...

Advantages: Big LCD screen, Answering machine, fax, sms Disadvantages: Not good for power failure, expensive services
..:: Amstrad e-mailer PLUS ::..
i will start by saing that the phone is corded and cannot be used while doing other jobs around the house.
the reason i started like this is because the phone althou its corded it still needs to be connected to the power socket and cannot be used otherwise, the plus in the name for my opinion is because plus it has to be registred to perate and if you dont accept the terms and conditions of the legal binding of the ... ...without a registred user and althou the power is on the unit wont give you a call tone making it impossible to make calls telling you to register to use.
althow with this introduction the product doesnt sound to be very good its the actual opposite because the unit is packed fuul of features infact its able to give you the following featuser and services.
# e-mail
# FAX (only send not retrival)
# SMS composer (sms cost 50p)
# Answering Machine

Advantages: You can avoid unwanted phonecalls Disadvantages: Not walkabout
...£200 mark - but because Amstrad have a lot of advertisers they can offer it to the customer for a snip of the price.
**THE LOOK**
A very professional looking silver phone with an LCD display and loads of extra buttons.
It has a full QWERTY keypad, which tucks nicely underneath the phone for use when sending text messages or emails.
**WHAT IT DOES**
Apart from obviously receiving and making phone calls this phone enables you to send and receive ... ...to 250 names, with the choice of storing Home, Work and Mobile phone numbers for each listing.
There is also the facility to access the Internet and play games, which you have to download via the phone.
Because of the LCD display you can also see who is calling (you need to subscribe to a Caller Display option with your telephone service provider to access this option). This allows you to ignore calls if you choose!
There is a built in answer ...

Advantages: Easy email, Great phone, nice design Disadvantages: email constraints, Web constraints, 12p charge per connection to web
I bought the Amstrad Emailer Plus under my wife's instance and I am glad I did – you can now pick one up for under £30. Before I tell you why let me run through what I find most useful about the phone. Telephone First of all it is a great telephone in it's own right with the BEST telephone book on any phone I have ever seen, even high spec business phones. Once you have added your numbers, which is a bit of a chore in the first instance if you aren’t ... ...is a delight to use the phone for making calls. The answer phone is good quality, the speaker phone is crisp and clear from your side but you have to stand close to the telephone mic (a tiny hole at the front of the unit) to make yourself understood to the other person unless of course you shout like a lunatic from across the room. Te design is eye-catching, attractive and a real conversation piece when people first see it, always good for the pose ...

Advantages: caller display, call log, easy to use answerphone. Disadvantages: large, adverts on screen, call charges for dial up emails.
This phone advertises itself as the all singing all dancing phone that will change your life. Hmmm. Maybe, but personally i find it has lots of gimmicks that we never ever use. We paid about £50 for ours from a local electrical shop about 4 months ago and to be honest it was a novelty for the first week and now it's just sitting there. OK it has it's redeeming features, caller display is very useful as is the facility to download ringtones and set ... ...extra to your phone provider for caller display to work in the first place, if you don't then both of the above features are useless.) The call log is also useful. at the press of a button you can see who called, when, how long they talked for if the call was answered and if you missed a call and they didn't leave a message you can see who it was. You can also see what calls have been made from the phone and how long they lasted too.
On a negative ...
