...£25 at Sainsbury’s for an Amstrad Emailer phone (luckily (or unluckily) we actually needed a new phone. I could hardly believe the price when I saw it and had to retake and check the little shelf label to confirm. I recall seeing them in Dixon’s last year for around £50 and thought that was a bargain at the time – so half that price is practically giving it away!
As you might suspect with a phone that claims to do so much it is slightly larger than ... ...bargain, but upon viewing the Amstrad web site I found the price had in fact dropped nationwide from around £50 to £30. However, I was extremely pleased with my new phone and despite my impatience I read the instructions and managed to get my phone registered and up and running with no real hassle. However like all good things – all is not paradise: For a start you get adverts on the display screen, something you cannot get rid of. However in all ...

Advantages: Lots of cool features for gadget lovers! Disadvantages: none
I have just an amstrad emailer, an early christmas pressie actually and it really is excellent. The phone itself, has tons of features, it stores up to 700 telephone numbers in its on screen address book, this is useful for easy dialing direct, and for each person you can add, home number, home address, office, email and mobile. You simply select address book from its very own little keyboard, highlight the name and press home , office etc and it ... ...machine that allows you to record your own greeting also.Plus the email facility, you are allowed 8 email addresses per household and you can set it to either automatically collect them or manual, I would recommend manual as it costs 12p for each email!.Also it allows you to add voice messages to an email, and you can recieve pictures too. Plus it is also a fax machine.he clear on screen display shows you how many emails and Voice messages you have ...

Advantages: Clear display, answering machine, fax capabilities Disadvantages: 17p a day charge, bad sound quality, overall rubbishness
...more than others. The trick Amstrad have implemented here is to make it seem that the option is able to be removed and you can stop the polling...however the option has NO effect what-so-ever and the only thing to do seems to be to unplug the phone, and smash it into a near-by wall. Repeatidly. Hard.
The little "PDA" seems to be the only good thing about it
On a purely unbiased view, the phone has some interesting features. Big LCD clock, handsfree ... ...with included "Pock-it Dock-it" which serves as a handy phonebook when you're out and about. On the newer Emailer Plus version, you can browse the web, choose a ringtone to use, buy things online...print stuff off...Its combined about 10 features of various phone and computer devices and put them in a box.
However, still stay away from this phone....unless you want a HUGE phonebill. ...

Advantages: large Caller display sceen, access to email Disadvantages: Calls premium numbers on auto to check for email
I purchased an Amstrad emailer around summer 2005, and at first was excited about my new phone/email receiver as I had no PC to access my emails and thought this would be the perfect solution.
A few months down the line after I had the chance to trial this phone believe me when I say it has been througholy ripped out of the phone socket and replace with a bog standard BT phone.
The reason the amstrad emailer and myself fell out was down to theses ... ...to anyone considering getting an Amstrad Emailer - do reconsider for you own pocket, try investing in a PC as I have done as with the emailer your only pay the price of the PC and more on calling your email.
You will of course get the Amstrad emailer at a rather cheap cost initially I paid £27.99 for mine from Argos,do be aware the phone is of cheap plastic and as much as you may think the screen will make it look smart, you can't disguise the fact ...

Advantages: lots of features Disadvantages: HIDDEN CHARGES
I recently got an amstrad emailer, I bought it from an auction so didn't read the small print on the box.
Yes its packed with features and is a very good phone in that respect. BUT it calls premium numbers automatically every day! It checks to see if you have any emails by ringing a number which costs 17p, (that comes to £62 a year) you cannot disable this feature even if you don't use the email (I never intended to in the first place). If you block ... ...it.
DO NOT BUY and amstrad emailer they are a con, sms are very expensive, you get adverts for porn poping up on them. Its cheaper to buy a basic second hand pc if you want to send emails.
Alan Sugar claims he was poor when he started out, don't buy his products any more and hopefully he will be poor again. ...

Iv'e had this cam for 9 months now, and to be quite honest i can't really fault it. The cam has a good resolution (640 x 480) so if you use it on msn messenger, you dont appear really fuzzy to the other person.
