...would tell you all about Anchor Butter. “FREE RANGE ANCHOR Cows Eat Grass All Year Round” – interesting – what does it mean to you and I? It basically means all the cows that they are using graze all year so they are more healthy – not kept on feed in a shed. =Taste=
The taste of this butter is exquisite. It has a flavour that is great, and it tastes good on anything that needs to be buttered. I use it on toast, crumpets, ... ...well:
82% Blend – Anchor Free Range Butter (70%)
Blended with Vegetable Oil (25%)
This blend contains 57% Milk Fat
That is what we are told … a bit confusing really, it doesn’t seem to add up to 100% does it, well then they tell us the ingredients:
Butter (70%), Vegetable Oil (25%), Water, Salt (1.3%). Made with New Zealand Butter
Not really that bad – when you compare it with Flora Light which has 1.7% salt! I thought ...

Advantages: Easy to Spread Nice Flavour Healthy Disadvantages: Not Many
Anchor butter from New Zealand has long been a big favourite with British housewives and,I should add, this reviewer as well. New Zealand is one of the least polluted coiuntries on the planet and dairy cows also have fine pasture to graze on. No wonder dairy products from the "land of the Kiwis" are held in such high esteem.
Now the Anchor butter people have come up with Anchor Spreadable in nice containers. Tubs are available in 250 gr and 500 gr ... ...convenient.Invest in a tub of Anchor Spreadable and what will you get ?
What you will get is a mighty fine product. The butter, just like normal Anchor, has a delightful flavour and is ideal for spreading on sandwiches,on croissants,on a baguette and on morning toast. It has a pleasant smell and a most satisfying taste. Even if you had it in your butter dish in the fridge it is dead easy to spread, which is very convenient if you are in a hurry.

Advantages: tastes good, is actually spreadable Disadvantages: -
...Ivel etc but none beat Anchor in my opinion and for years now I have been a loyal Anchor spreader.
When Anchor used to be advertised on TV it used to be a bright sunny background, green grass, blue background and cows. Not exactly the most normal advert but humerous and I like the image that Anchor butter brings. So the first impressions of Anchor butter well it is a beauty to stare at. Obviously with butter most companies go for the obvious and ... ...in red as is the anchor which lies on top of the green freshly sprung grass with flowers and hot air balloons in the warm, yellow golden sky. The tub is mainly yellow but it is bright and very appealing.
So butter can be used in cooking but this is not my favourite way of eating it I prefer obviously to spread it on toast. It cannot only be spread on toast but also pancakes, crumpets, rols etc. So the question most of you wonder is probably, is ...

Advantages: Great buttery taste that spreads from the tub Disadvantages: High in calories and fat
...cool is that!? Enter: Anchor Spreadable.
Product
Well as product names go it is fairly self-explanatory. This is a version of that lovely Anchor butter that is, well you've guessed it, spreadable. To help you find this on the supermarket shelves they have used a similar design for the packaging as for the original solid butter (a red anchor prominent on a yellow background).
It comes in 250g and 500g tubs. I usually go for the 500g tub as the ... ...94p. Taste
Anchor butter has a lovely rich, creamy, buttery taste that lingers in the mouth. The spreadable version has retained this flavour but has a creamy smooth texture. Lurrrvley.
Techy Stuff
OK now for the bad news. Anchor is not a 'low fat spread' and is pretty heavy going in the calorie department. But then if you want Anchor on your toast it's because of the taste and not to help with your waistline. Anchor Spreadable is made from 'Anchor ...

...the lable.
THE BOX
Anchor comes in a box unlike the nonspreadable version. The box is yellow and plastic and has a lid to keep it fresh. The first time you eat it there is a piece of waxy paper on top of the butter which you have to peel off. On the box there is also a picture of an anchor cow and some info about the product. Like how much fat it contains. I normally do not read this bit lol.
THE BUTTER
The butter is paler than normal butters. ... ...is also JUST like normal anchor butter so you do not notice the difference because there isn’t one. Both types are sweet which is good because you cannot eat as much. It melts well and quickly and tastes yum. It is creamy and soft to.
THE USES
You can spread it on:
Bread,
Toast,
Muffins,
Crumpets,
bread buns
Pitta bread
You can use it when cooking to make cakes or butter cream. You can use it wherever a recipe sayes “butter. ...
