In Daddy’s Little Girl Clark takes us to small town USA with your average American Family attempting to provide a healthy stable environment for their children. Dad, a highway patrolman, Mom, a homemaker with two young girls Ellie and Andrea.
Clark bases this story around the main character, Ellie. She is the youngest child in the family who admired her father deeply. But to Ellie, daddy’s favorite was her big teenage sister Andrea. But Ellie did not envy Andrea; in fact they were the best of friends and kept each others secrets. But in the end, one of these secrets would change the whole family’s lives forever.

Disadvantages: Miranda can wear thin on your nerves after a while
...The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger is the story of Andrea Sachs, a newly graduated journalist who dreams of writing for The New Yorker. Although Andrea has no interest in fashion and no desire to work in fashion publishing she takes a job as the junior assistant to Editor-In-Chief of Runway magazine Miranda Priestly after being assured that after a year she will be able to walk into any job she wants.
She soon learns that Miranda Priestly is the boss from hell who expects her employees to work 14 hours days doing everything from finding her a new skirt to wrapping her Christmas presents. As a result of her job and Miranda's insistence that her assistants are on call 24 hours, Andrea finds her relationships with her boyfriend, best friend and family fall to the side line.

Advantages: Nice pace, great characters, good writing style
Disadvantages: Possibly exagerated, but still believable
...Andrea Sachs is a small town gal trying to make it in the big bad city. An aspiring author, she's fresh out of college and looking for an editorial job somewhere. When Andrea first walks into the Runway offices, she knows nothing about fashion, and doesn't particularly care to know either. Through some twisted hand of fate, the fashion-naive Andrea ends up as the junior assistant to the most powerful woman in the fashion industrial - a rather controlling woman by the name of Miranda Priestly. Editor in Chief of Runway magazine, The job has absolutely nothing to do with the journalistic career Andrea is yearning for, but, and this is what really gains her interest, one year working with Miranda Priestly will land her any job any where - including her dream job as a journalist with the New Yorker.
