The actual section for this product doesn’t specify which of the Perfect Endings range it is, so I’ve decided to write about the items from the range that I’ve purchased, you may be in for a long review!
I first discovered this while house sitting for my blokes sister. She’s gone off on holiday, and we’ve been staying at her house to look after her dog. While I was having a shower the other day, I spotted lots of products in her shower, great I thought. I can write lots of reviews on Ciao! Ha. No really…. I couldn’t wait to test them all out!
The first thing I tried was Andrew Collinge Perfect Endings Smooth Shampoo and Knot Free Conditioner. The shampoo claims to Nourish and rehydrate for maximum softness and shine. All the products in the Perfect Endings range contain, Multivitamins which protect your hair from daily damage, and help improve its health and manageability, A UV Damage Protector to protect hair from environmental damage and help reduce colour fading and Vegetein which is a unique vegetable protein for extra moisture and shine. Then I went on to buy the majority of the range! The products are designed for longer hair, and as my hair is slightly below my shoulder, I presume I fit the bill.
There are numerous products within the range including:
Smooth Shampoo - has been developed to strengthen and re-hydrate the lengths and ends of longer hair so that it feels as good as new hair. With extracts of vitamin E, Pro-Vitamin B5 and wheat proteins, it will nourish and protect, restoring softness and shine. I bought the shampoo from Superdrug, it cost me £3.49.
Knot Free Condition - will instantly de-tangle and smooth away frizz and flyaway hair. Its super moisturising, strengthening formula protects weak and brittle areas from dryness, helping reduce breakage and split ends, leaving hair ultra soft, silky and tangle free. As with the Shampoo, I paid £3.49 for this from Superdrug.
Leave in Condition - is a light leave-in conditioning spray that is a must have for longer locks. It will re-moisturise weaker areas, instantly calming and controlling unruly, troublesome or frizzy lengths and ends. It can be spritzed onto wet or dry hair, so its ideal to use if your hair starts to re-frizz between washes. I bought this from Superdrug for £3.95.
Heat Defence Styling Spray - When the heat is on keep your hair cool using Heat Defence Styling spray to protect the weaker lengths and ends of longer hair from the damaging effects of regulated styling and straightening, keeping your hair super shiny and frizz free. I bought this from Superdrug for £3.95. You may find this very difficult to come across. The Boots, Sainsburys. Morrisons, Tesco’s and Asda close to me are all out of stock, as are two local Superdrugs. I managed to find this at a smaller Superdrug. You may need to shop about to find it.
Shine on Hair Serum - comes is a revolutionary easy to use quad sachet with four individual applications. Ideal for home use, weekends away or simply keeping in the handbag for frizz breakouts. It’s lighter than light formula containing soy proteins will instantly smooth frayed cuticles, calming frizz and flyaway. It will also protect against brush damage and heat styling, keeping longer locks super shiny and glossy. Whether you hair is straight or curly, use on wet or dry hair as often as required. As yet, I haven’t purchased this.
Straightening Crème - Keep hair looking silky smooth with Frizz Control Straightening Crème, you can tame and straighten your hair with ease. I haven’t bought this, as I’m not a big fan of creams of this type, as I find they make my hair heavy and lank.
The Andrew Collinge Salon Solutions range and the NEW perfect endings range are available at Superdrug, Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury's, Safeway, Waitrose and leading chemists. The shampoo and conditioner cost £3.49 each.
The shampoo and conditioner come in an unusual shaped plastic bottle with a flip lid. The two bottles looks great along side each other, the go together as a pair. The shades and colours of the bottles are a quite nice peach colour, with all text and information in contrasting colours. Both the shampoo and conditioner bottle are about 8 inches tall and contain 250mls of product. The bottles look quite expensive and sophisticated and would look great in anybodies bathroom.
I was quite surprised when I saw the actual shampoo, it’s gold in colour and looks very shimmery. The smell of the shampoo wasn’t amazingly strong, but was very pleasant, it smells quite floral but very fresh too. I usually prefer a shampoo and conditioner like Herbal Essences, because the smell if so nice, and make your hair smell gorgeous. I was a bit wary that this would make my hair smell when I washed it and then quickly fade. It didn’t by hair smelt very nice until the next day when I washed it again.
You don’t need to use a huge amount of shampoo, just wet your hair and rub about a 50p-sized amount between your hands, and lather up your hair. It lathers well, although it’s not bubbly. The lather is very luxurious and feels amazingly soft. You notice straight away the softness it gives your hair. Your hair feels soft and smooth and isn’t tangled. Hence the name of the shampoo, ‘Super Smooth’ it’s very apt! I felt a difference to my hair straight away, even when it was still wet.
After using the shampoo, I use the Knot Free Conditioner. The condition is slightly creamier than the shampoo, and not gold in colour. It’s actually exactly the same colour as the bottle, a nice creamy peach colour. The conditioner has the same smell as the shampoo, although it smells slightly stronger to me. The conditioner is very creamy but doesn’t feel heavy and sticky as some conditioners do, it’s light and almost feels fluffy!
This is the same as any other conditioner and should be applied sparingly to the hair after shampooing; you need to concentrate on the ends and lengths of your hair, rather than the roots. I never condition the roots of my hair as I find my hair is really soft and in good condition at the roots, it’s just not great everywhere else! Use a small amount of conditioner – A little bit goes a very long way! Put a small amount on your hands and massage into the hair, it then says you should comb the hair with a wide comb, I don’t do this, although I separate my hair using my fingers, I find this just as effective. Separating the hair ensures that the hair is properly covered and it helps in making it tangle free. It says on the back of the bottle that if your hair is particularly dry you should leave the conditioner on for 1- 2 minutes. I find leaving it on for about a minute is enough. I do have quite dry and brittle hair from bleaching, dying and straightening my hair regularly, and I find that a minute is enough, im always wary of leaving conditioner on for too long, in case it makes my hair greasy.
After rinsing the conditioner off my hair, I noticed how soft my hair felt. It felt as though I had used a special treatment mask on my hair. My hair was very soft and tangle free, my hair usually feels quite thick and tangled after washing it, and I need to brush it through before drying, not with this though, my hair actually felt great! The smell was quite noticeable too; it smelt sweet and very pleasant. Make sure you do rinse the conditioner off your hair properly though. To help close the pores on you hair, blast your hair with a cold burst from the shower. It helps make your hair less frizzy.
At this point I’m out of the shower and sitting I front of a mirror. Frizzy hair and I never towel dry my hair, as I end up with tangled. I let my hair drip for a bit before I start with the hair dryer. This is where the Heat Defence styling spray comes into action.
All in all, the bottle is about 7 inch tall, it’s wider at the bottom, and tapers up to a narrow neck with a spray on the top. It reminds me of something you would spray your plants with in the garden. The bottle is see through plastic, with a plain peach coloured label, which fits in with the colour scheme for the rest of the range. The plastic bottle contains 150mls of styling spray.
I use this as it indicates on the bottle. It says to spray through damp hair before drying, and then spritz the hair when dry before using hair straighteners and stylers. I only use it on the ends of my hair when it’s dry.
The actual product is a creamy white colour, and looks very watery. The smell is identical to the shampoo and conditioner. The product isn’t sticky, it’s very watery, so absorbs into your hair instantly.
I found this styling spray very hard to come by, I tried numerous different shops before finding it for the bargain price of £3.95. This is definitely one of the best styling products I have bought for a long time. It smells gorgeous, makes your hair feel amazing and is dirt-cheap.
I always dry my hair in stages, and clip the top layer of hair up until I’ve dried and straightened the bottom. I spray this onto the underneath of my hair, I’m quite generous and will spray it about 5 times, so that my hair has a decent covering. I then dry my hair with the hair dryer and proceed to straighten it. My hair feels soft and looks so straight. I then do the same with the top layer, but using maybe only 3 squirts of the spray this time, then dry and straighten.
Once my hair is fully dried and straightened, I’ll spray the ends of my hair with the spray again, this time, only using 2 to 3 sprays, so the bottom of my hair is lightly coated. I then straighten over this bit again. It makes my hair looks even straighter and minimises the look of split ends and frizz. My hair looks shiny and glossy and smells great.
The last product that I have purchased from the Perfect Endings range is the leave in conditioner. I don’t use this product as much as the rest. The leave in conditioner comes in a small aerosol type container. Its about 7 inches tall, and looks very much like a tin of Impulse body spray. The colours of the tin are the same as the rest of the range, it’s peach in colour with contrasting text.
The container has a removable plastic cap, and spray style applicator. This smells gorgeous, the smell is the same as the other products but loads strong, it smells lovely, I would love a body spray that smelt like this! The actual spray is very watery and transparent. I expected something a bit more creamy (this sounds awful…lol!) It suggests you use this after shampooing instead of the knot free conditioner, and don’t rinse it out. I don’t find using it this way very effective.
I prefer to use it on dry hair. I find it works well on the ends of your hair. I sometimes use it later in the day if I’ve had my hair down all day, and I’m going straight out and don’t have time to wash and straighten my hair again. I spray a little of this onto the ends of my hair and straighten over it again, and my hair is smooth and has no frizz. If you apply it to the roots of your hair when it’s dry it does look a bit greasy though.
Overall the Andrew Collinge Perfect Endings range is perfect for me. It suits me great. I love the effect it has on my hair. My hair is softer more manageable and looks great. I’ve had numerous comments on the way my hair looks lately. I would suggest this range is perfect for people with long hair or those of us with dry hair, whether if be from colouring or bleaching or it’s just the way your hair is.
Advantages: You can give your hair a quick spray before you go out. Disadvantages: Takes a while to spray your whole hair.
Andrew Collinge - Perfect Endings - Essential Moisturiser (Leave-in salon conditioning spray)
You know when you love a product, but one day it's out of stock, so you get something else instead, thinking, "Oh, this will do for now," and it turns out you love the new product and can't live without it? Well, I found Perfect Endings Leave-in Conditioner that way.
A long, long time ago, my mother went to the hairdressers and they put something in her ... ...that is when I discovered Andrew Collinge - Perfect Endings - Leave-in conditioner.
I wouldn't say that Perfect Endings is as good as the "magic stuff", but I still really like it. The only difference is that "magic stuff" makes the hair soft and silky all over, where as the Perfect Endings spray really only sorts out split ends where you spray it. It doesn't have the same over all effect. However, I bought it because I wanted a split ends product, ...

It surprised me of how good value for money it was, considering the brand name. I bought it at my local tesco for £3.49, and 1/6 of the bottle has lasted me 2 weeks. When travelling, it fitted perfectly into the side pocket of my holdal. The downside is the nozzle ...
