Carmen Girls Angel Curls, is a pink and girly hair curler directed at the teenage market.

The design being so girly, will make any preteen/mid-teenage girl very happy; it's ideal for a present because it's good value for money aswell.

It's RRP is £19.99, but it can be bought off the highstreet at £14.00, and I've evwen seen an Ebay listing for it for £4.00!

The curls created are angel curls - ringlets.

But aside from being a very decorative and trendy looking peice to buy for someone, practically it's not too good for curling all hair types.

Performance wise, the curler doesn't reach salon quality high heats, but then it's not priced at that level either. And even though the heat doesn't go that high, there is a steam function available to help set the curl.

From my experience, having thick, long and straight hair, the curler simply did not create curls which could last, not even with superhold hairspray. Before I even finished curling my whole head of hair, the sections I had done at the begining were already looking limp and wavy rather than boucy and curly. And after about half an hour, all the curls had vanished and i was left with a "super-hold" look of somewhere in between wavy and tangled. Not a look I can go out with.

However, when I tried the curler on my younger sister, I was pleasantly (although enviously) surprised, that the curls were coming out well, and they weren't coming loose. Furthermore, I sent her off to her school party, and she came back with the curls still there; yes they were a little frizzier and a bit unkempt compared to this morning, but they had lasted quite well for the whole day. Her hair being straight, but short and thin, was much better suited than mine.

My overall opinion of the product is that it's good value for money but not worthwhile investing in if you have hair that is long thick and straight (usually asian hair), as the curler simply doesn't have the holding power to keep the curls in place, even with hairspray.

Note- this is my first ever review, all feedback welcome and appreciated.
