Due to the lack of evidence, or even a body, the authorities in Angel's Fist find it hard to believe Reece's story. After all she is a newcomer, already with a reputation of being jittery, then a series of menacing occurrences start happening, making it clear that someone wants her out of the way, Reece must put her trust in Brody - the one person who does believe her - to find the murderer before it's too late…
AS a fan of Nora Roberts, I picked up this book hoping for a novel that I could completely immerse myself in, and I wasn't disappointed. The character of Reece is well drawn, with flaws and foibles, the main ones being linked to the tragic crime which she was running away from, which has brought out a shed load of fear (understandably) and her own need to have everything in it's proper place, in other words borderline OCD.
Brody, like a typical male protagonist in Nora Roberts novel, is like no other in what is thought as a typical romance novel, as he can be selfish, blunt, and cutting. But like what is needed in a romance novel, is there for Reece whenever she needs him, which when it boils down to it, is what we need most.
Roberts, after writing so many novels knows how to build and set the pace of the thriller, so that you known to the characters before anything really starts going wrong and then builds the tension slowly so that at the end you're looking forward to the end of the chapter (but in a good way) as you wish to know more to let the story continue and start your guesses of who done it
The only problem that I had with the book is that as am I such a huge fan of Roberts I thought that there would be more written about the growth in the relationship between Lo (Lo is short for Lothario, a character called William Butler, who has gone out with nearly every woman in Angel's Fist) and Linda-Gail.
Overall a good suspense novel though not one of my favourite by Nora Roberts, but I would suggest it to anyone a fan of the genre or of Nora Roberts

...a book snob! Angels Fall follows chef Reece Gilmore, sole survivor of a brutal massacre at work, as she moves out west from Boston to start a new life away from the bad memories of home. Although a year has passed since the incident, she is still, understandably, more than little messed up from being shot and left to die as 12 of her good friends did that night. Obsessive compulsive, neurotic and a bag of nerves, the people of Angels Fist, where ... ...of other works already so I will have plenty of opportunity to find out. Angels Fall is available at Amazon from 1p used or £4.89 new. I enjoyed it and would recommend it to people who enjoy a book with plenty of twists, or fancy trying something different. ...
