They sent round a pimply faced youth in a badly fitting suit who ignored my request for him to measure up and quote and insisted on going through the full presentation, as taught to him at the National Annoying Salesmen's Academy, despite being asked not to.
After two long tedious hours of verbal diarrhoea he finally came up with a price. When I came round I asked him if he was joking.
"No problem, if you sign up for our finance deal and pay £x per month for five years you'lll find it a lot more affordable"
A quick tappity tap on my calculator told me that my few bits of plastic were going to cost just over £9000. When I came round for the second time I politely asked him to leave.
He suddenly found a way of knocking off a couple of grand, despite the fact that I had specifically asked them not to play this silly game.
Again I asked him to leave only this time slightly less politely.
He said that he would have to ring his boss to get permission to leave without a signed form. Not wishing to start a fight I let him, then I had to argue with his boss. After a while I hung up on him and told the lad to get the hell out, only not so politely as that.
I ended up physically throwing the lad out, throwing him into his car and even starting the engine for him, still he wouldn't take the hint. I upset my neighbours by screaming at the lad to "F**K off" and never come back.
I received seven more calls from AHI during the rest of that week, the price dropped to a quarter of the original quote, on the condition that I displayed a board outside the house and told loads of people how great they were .
I declined, told them never to call me again and did the job myself.
I hired a tower scaffold, bought the materials and took a couple of days off and though I say it myself the job looked pretty good. Oh, and I spent less that £400.
Advantages: None Disadvantages: expensive, pushy sales reps, bad fitters and pro quality window frames
I had contacted Anglian windows in late 2000 for a quote. This was the start of the problems with them! I had made it very clear to him that the windows were an integral part of the structure of my property (being timber framed back and front) and that they would need to be strengthened to support both the upper and the roof. I was told this would not be a problem and they would be able to deal with this. Their rep spent three hours giving me the ... ...house I contacted Anglian windows head office several times and complained eventually they sent out a surveyor to look at the job and see what if any thing they needed to do to put it Wright. Their surveyor looked at the house and said that this is a common problem with this type of property and it was down to the way the house was constructed and went away leaving me feeling very foolish.

I have just had a very bad experience with this company. They use high pressure tactics, provide poor customer service and are not trustworthry
Their salesman knocked on my door with offer of free quotation for windows, rooftrim and garage door. He qoted £27.5+K which was rejected. For a whole month was chased up by calls and further offers of initially £18K for the job (rejected) and subsequently after further ... ...home leaving a note that Anglian cannot match external features of property which we were not told about before when contracts signed. Few days later the window surveyor came (on the agreed date) but surprisingly broke the wooden joints between the windows of my 2 Bay windows with the excuse that he needed to get accurate measurements. A week later received a notice from the company that Anglian wanted further nearly £3K to complete the job seemingly ...

Advantages: good sales tactics Disadvantages: very poor installation & after sales
Anglian Windows should be avoid if do not want to pay over the odds and make endless complaints and surveyors fee and stress.
I though the sales people gave a good product but let down by extremely poor windows installation and after sales service.
The first installation all the windows were under sized .
All the windows were under sized I could get my fingers in between the
brick face and the windows frame.The top of the door I could put my ... ...the windows did not meet anglian own quality standard . They only agreed to redo the windows but not the doors.The surveyor advised me to take the offer which I did with reluctanct as Anglian demaned money.I advised the surveyor that they would do a spoiler.

Just had Anglian windows fitted... But have only paid them half of the bill because the work was not completed, they have one other window to fit.. Because we refused to pay we were threatened with them sending the fitters back into the house to remove the windows they had just fitted... I told the guy to grow up! He then threatened us with court if we did not pay them in full... they had not finished the job, according to our contract the money ... ...day... still no call!
AVOID ANGLIAN WINDOWS LTD AT ALL COST... THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS.... SHAME BECAUSE THE PRODUCT IS OK!

Trying to get it put right was a nightmare! I ended up taking 17 days of work to wait in for people who didn't show up. Eventually I got it sorted by sending a summons to the small claims court to the MD of AnglianWindows (who own LD). It seems to be the only way to get anything done with them. He wasn't impressed and after much arguing I got the kitchen sorted plus some upgrades and freebies (microwave, new fridge freezer, living room redecorated) and £2400 refunded to cover my wasted time and other costs (not bad as the kitchen only cost £5000)
In short - pushy salesman, atrocious customer service, lobotomised monkeys for workmen, and don't bother going for the managers go straight to the top to get it all put right ...

for some reason to quote it in and then separate the two.
He sat on his laptop and drew up a design and showed me just how my new conservatory would look funny the windows had almost been forgotten but when he gave me the figure I nearly fainted £14500 enough to place a deposit on a house or buy a nice new car. I told him to forget the conservatory at which stage he really lost interest and told me the windows alone would be £3500 I soon told him thank you for your time I may be in touch (yeah Likely 6 windows £3500).
A week later I got a stroppy email asking why I had not been in touch and was it to expensive for me bloody cheek I thought and Anglian were off my list.

selection process the likely hood of a rufund cannot be determined by odds. What the company is looking for is a good contrast between the before and after pictures.
Thoes that are on comission can be spotted a mile away, they will be trying to point out work over and above what needs doing such as you are interested in double glazing but they want and tell you that you need new guttering as well.
This is not limited to Zenith Staybrite but is even more common practice amoungst other firms such as Anglian Everest and even worse BAC windows and doors, you just dont get the same quality of warranty as Zenith and the products are far below the standard I would expect when you buy from other companies. At least Zeniths whole operation is in house and they never sub contract out labour - if this happens then warrantys are no use as people blame ...
