Animal Crossing: Wild World is a fun-filled game suitable for all ages (PEGI rated 3+). There are millions of items to collect such as clothes, umbrellas, flowers, fish, insects, furniture and even fossils. There's also many different characters to meet too. Most of this stuff will be explained later in the review.
Starting Your New Game It is really easy to start a new game. Simply touch "New Game" with your stylus* at the title screen. (*Your stylus will work on only one of the screens: the touch screen. Please refer to your Nintendo DS manual for more information.) Once you've done that you'll find yourself in a cab on the way to your new town. In this cab journey you'll meet Kapp'n. This is the only time you'll get a chance to meet him unless you create another character (there is a maximum of 4 per game card). In the cab you'll get to make up a name for your town and your character. Don't be rude though. If you are your character might turn out quite UGLY!
First thing's first You will be dropped off outside the town hall which is the most important part of the town. Inside you'll find Pelly. Pelly is a bird-like character who is in charge of the post office and civic centre (see Town Hall). Pelly will show you where your house is on the map then, if you want her too, she'll tell you how to view your map.
Home Sweet Home Now you know where it is, you'll go to your house. When you come out of your house Tom Nook will come and meet you and tell you about the mortgage which is normally 19800 Bells. You'll also get a job at Nook's Cranny (the local
shop, see Tom Nook's Shop below). Your job will take 1400 Bells off the mortgage upon completion and will also let you get to know your neighbours and also how to write letters to them. You will also have to deliver packages and write on the notice board outside the town hall.
Characters You'll meet a lot of new characters in Animal Crossing. Most of them are really friendly but there is sometimes a rude one every so often.....
Pelly Pelly runs the post office and civic centre in the town hall.
Tortimimer Tortimimer is the mayor of the town.
Tom Nook Tom is the owner of the local shop - Nook's Cranny. The shop may get upgraded to Nook 'N' Go or Nook Way. Both will have more items for sale than in Nook's Cranny.
Sable Sable just sits in the corner in Able Sisters doing some sewing. She doesn't talk to anyone.
Mable Mable will let you create new designs. She'll also tell you the price of everything instore!
Blathers Blathers is the person (or owl, rather) in charge of the museum
Celeste Celeste works in the observatory above the museum. She love constellations and stars.
Brewster This character sure can make a good cup o' coffee. Brewster works in The Roost.
Booker and Copper These two are in charge of the town gate. Booker also looks after the lost and found items and the town flag.
Lyle Do you need accident insurance? No? That doesn't matter. He'll keep on pestering you 'till you pay him. It's "only" 3000 Bells. On the bright side, if you get stung by bees or bit by a mosquito you'll get compensated!
Sahara If you meet Sahara one day while playing the game you should do what she asks and deliver some parcels for her. Once you've done this you'll get a supet rare wallpaper or carpet. These can be sold at a high price.
These characters will be people in your town. There is only a very slight chance that you'll get a character that your friends or I have.
Joey Joey is a fun loving duck full of excitement. He visited my house last night and is also my favourite character. This is someone I know everyone will love.
Chief Chief is a wolf who can be quite angry at times but wouldn't hurt a fly. He is another character in my town.
Deena I have no idea what Deena is supposed to be but she's still really nice and friendly. She too would make a great neighbour.
Mint Mint is a great character who looks sort of like a squirrel. She has a great personality.
Bluebear Bluebear is a wonderful bear. He moved into my town this morning.
Genje Genje is a nice character but may get a bit annoyed at you if you forget to talk to her for a while.....

Tools There are many different tools avaliable. 13 all-in-all. These comprise of 7 normal tools and 6 golden ones. Not all of them will be writen about at the same time. Heres a discription about each one:
Shovel A shovel can be used to dig up things like gydroids or fossils. It can also be used to bury things or plant fruit. (TIP - Plant fruits or other trees on a rainy day so that you will not be required to water them.)Remember that any of the stuff that you have buried can be dug up by another person in your house or even a friend who has come to visit you through Wi-Fi.
Golden Shovel This tool can be obtained by burying a normal shovel and leaving it for 24 hours. When you dig it up it will be golden! The golden shovel works in much the same way as a normal shovel.
Fishing Rod Fishing Rods are in stock at Nook's almost every day. It can be used only to catch fish. Fish can be found in rivers, ponds and the ocean (all water, practically). Watch out for any rubbish that might have been dumped in the water. If you find any, simply place it in the recycle bin inside the Town Hall. The biggest fish you can catch is the SHARK!!!
Buildings There will be many buildings in your town. They will all play a significant role in your game! All the people inside the buildings will be described above in the characters section. Below are the descriptions of several buildings:
Nook's Shops Tom Nook owns a shop. This will have a number of items in it and will also increase in size with each upgrade. Here is what each shop will carry:

Member Earn 300 points to become a member. The prize for this level is a Nook's Cranny model. You'll also get a slight discount on products in the store.
Writing Letters All the people in the town love getting mail. Especially if there's a present attached. Send letters regularly. There's also many different types of stationary available from Nook. My favourite is Plaid Paper because it looks like tartan
Fruits There are many fruits avaliable in the game. Your town will have one specific fruit at the start. This is your town's native fruit and is worth 100 bells at Nook's. All other fruits are worth 500 Bells!
