THE PRINCIPLE- AMICHIEN BONDING
Dogs were once "pack animals" and although lifestyles and appearances have changed over thousands of years the wolf pack instinct still remains.

Walking Ollie: Dog Owners must read!
Review of Walking Ollie: Winning the Love of a Difficult Dog - Stephen Foster by
Balcyboy
Advantages: Reading, enjoyable book, funny!
Disadvantages: None!
Walking Ollie: Dog Owners must read!
Walking Ollie is a genius book written by Stephen Foster, as an owner of 2 dogs my self I found this book hysterically funny and struggled to keep my eyes off it until I had read it. The book is many things but not a negative one could be listed, the author is discovering what it's like to be a dog owner and although may sound a little boring. Don't knock it until you've read it. It shows the typical bitchiness ... ...ego that builds up just walking past a dog owner for the 3 seconds, this book has everything from, comedy, drama, action yet it's just about a man trying to gain the love of a tough dog! Buying this book will.. Heck.. May even make you get a dog yourself! ...

Me or the Dog - now ME & MY DOG
Review of It's Me or the Dog: How to Have the Perfect Pet - Victoria Stilwell by
rolletrog
Advantages: Effective, simple, chapters
Disadvantages: you still have to put the work in
...how to discipline too. It's also reasurringly written in that it's not patronising and helps you understand your dog - there's sections on body language and noises - it's fairly in depth but at the same time split into sections so you can find the bit on crate training, or toilet training, or barking whenever you need it. It definately helped me train Doughnut and now we're best of pals (she'd sell my soul for a bonio but...). I got my copy of ebay ...

mr-zeeman sniffs out a decent dog book
Review of The Hidden Life of Dogs - Elizabeth Marshall Thomas by
mr-zeeman
Advantages: Satisfyingly dog-centred
Disadvantages: Has given mr-zeeman an appetite for another dog
...by Roy Hattersly; "Dogs in the News" by Martyn Lewis"; "500 Mile Walkies" by a chap whose name I have temporarily forgotten; "Dog Facts" by Joan Palmer … and a whole sagging shelf-load of other titles.
Hence it was with massive coronary-inducing excitement that I handed over 20pence in a charity shop in exchange for a dog-related volume that I hadn't seen before … "The Hidden Life of Dogs" by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas [E.M.T for brevity]. A quick ... ...and easily-digested academic study of the behaviour of domestic dogs. ~~~~~~
"How might dogs conduct themselves if left undisturbed in normal circumstances?"
This was the recurring thought that propelled dog enthusiast Elizabeth Marshall Thomas into conducting a totally unsentimental piece of research into normal, unrestricted, uncontrolled, canine behaviour. At first glance one would assume that this very same thought had reverberated through ...
