I've been an Ann Summers Party Organiser one and off for three and a half years now. I took a year out an started back in May this year. Doing Ann Summers has its advantages and also its disadvantages, I work full time during the day as Sales and MArketing Manager therefore I don't have to rely on the parties to obtain more money.. its just a bonus when i do them.

Initially you don't have to make an initial outlay to join Ann Summers which is good, they give you a kit worth the value of £500 and you basically pay rental on this until you have banked £1000, which £1000 is nothing really if you have the time and dedication and commitment to finding work, this is just 4 to 5 parties and then you don't have to pay rental. Kit rental is £3.50 per week.

Training is given initially, you can go on as many training parties as you want until you feel comfortable on doing parties on your own. I don't think that we get enough support from unit organisers and area managers, however they do give you a few parties to start you off, which really from one party you should obtain another two future dates to ensure you still have regular work coming.

Targets are set and work on the basis that you bank a standard amount per month, normally £500, attend regular monthly meetings and in genral make sure you are still working to keep you account opening.

People think working for Ann Summer is easy but you have gotta accept that really you are a franchise and its not going to come easily... you need to canvass and advertise in order to create more awareness and obtain more business as you do with any business.. so any student thinking they can make a lot of money for just standing up throwing undies everywhere for a couple of hours its not that easy.. you have gotta work at it.

Commission is 30% of sales, 10% you give to your hostess not including her order so you make about 23% plus any raffle moeny that you earn as they will pay anything up to £2 - 5 if they know they are getting a decent prize...i normally give the prize with their order the following week so i can assess what amount to spend on the prize depending on raffle sales.

I do on average two or three parties a month but with other commitments i have to put my priorities right. I earn in the region of £60 - £80 per party which isn't bad for just two hours work.

Ideal for people wanting a bit of extra cash but dont forget it isn't put on a plate for you... its your own business and you have to work hard to achieve your individual goals.
