The most striking thing about this novel is that it's a thriller in two parts: when Anna goes missing, there are two versions of what happens to her. Anna goes missing when visiting Florence, without telling her best friends (Stella, who lives in Amsterdam, and Paul, who's the gay surrogate father to her daughter) and her daughter, Lily. Stella flies to Anna's London home to take care of Lily and attempt to contact Anna, facing the possibility that Anna might not come home. Dunant focuses on the horror of missing people by telling Stella's side of the story in the first person, rather than Anna's. Advantages: well written, dramatic

...An excellent book from Anna jacobs, full of drama, excitement and sorrow. A book to enjoy, curled up by the fire or spread out on the beach. i used a whole box of tissues while reading this book. The rest of the books in this series are excellent too. The main character is a woman with a determined character, modern women could take a few tips from her. I read this book in 1 night as once started i couldnt stop reading till i reached the end. I felt as though after reading it any problems in my own life were minor and i was thankful i born in this century. Any one who likes history and a strong story line will love this book. I thoroughly recommend reading Anna Jacobs.... Read review

...This is an amazing book that doesn't just tell a story but focuses on moral choices from a number of people that are invovled in the situation. In My Sisters Keeper, we meet 13 year old Anna, she is and has always been used as a donor for her older sister Kate. Kate suffers from a rare form of Leukaemia and needs regular blood transfusions and donors from her sister. This may not seem like a big deal but it becomes more involved when we realise that Anna was actually created in a Lab using different genes and DNA so that when she was born she would be a perfect match for Anna. When Kate becomes so ill the only hope left for her is a kidney transplant from Anna.This is where the story really starts to take off, Anna takes herself to a lawyer and sues her parents to the rights of her own body.
