Advantages: Beautiful writing, enthralling characters, excellent story Disadvantages: Name confusion!
...that it detracts from the novel and is irrelevant. This is essential as, as I have already mentioned, there is a lot of discussion of contemporary Russian issues and most of us probably wouldn’t know the exact nature of “the Slavic question” off the top of our heads. These notes are not only useful, but indispensable.
The descriptions Tolstoy uses are simply beautiful. Some people might be put off by long descriptions, but they add so much to the story and are such a pleasure to read that I can’t imagine what kind of person, upon finishing Anna Karenina, would seriously think it better off without them. I am a Thomas Hardy fan myself, so far from disliking long descriptions, I relish them and Tolstoy is an expert at picking out the details that enhance the readers’ experience. Advantages: Great characters, descriptive Disadvantages: not in the slighest anusing (but it's not meant to be)
...the owner can\'t quite believe what is happening, he is soon joined by 5 other people, a German girl , Elsa, an American guy, Thomas, David from Manchester and Fiona and Shane a couple from Dublin. As they sit and watch the events unfold beneath them friendships are forged (by some) and it becomes apparent that they are here in this village escaping something from home.
As the story moves on we meet Vonni and Irish woman who has lived in Aghia Anna for over 30 years, she beomes an advisor and confidante to the friends but they also want to figure out her story, what bought Vonni here, etc.

Advantages: Good read even if you didn't watch it on television! Disadvantages: None
...When Big Brother first started on television, I couldn't understand what all the fuss was about!! Who were these people: Sada, Andrew, Caroline, Nichola, Nick, Thomas, Mel, Darren, Anna and Craig? So I had a look at the third programme and......I got hooked!! When it was all over, I felt lost....and then the book came out! Yipee!! I read the book over two nights and felt like I was back with my friends. It starts off telling you about how they came to choose the plot of land for the BB house and how some of the production team had spend some time in the house before it went out on air! All good fun I can tell you. Then comes the selection process. This is where you start to get a picture of the contestants. Following this is a diary of their day to day antics,in the house,good and bad! You get to relive the nominations and the atmosphere...
