The Ansmann batteries are supplied in blister packs of either 2 or 4. They are fast charging, about 9hrs from flat. They are long lasting. For a digital camera or flash unit that requires a lot of power, these have the endurance.
These have been made for the camera. Yes you can go into a shop quickly and buy a blister pack of 4 batteries, even those you have seen advertised on T.V. as long lasting, but if they ... more

This battery can be recharged. At least 1000 times. Consider the saving that you will make. So all right you have to buy a charger as well, but you will still save yourself in the long run. Say an average pack of batteries costs £4.00. They will last for a few weeks or possibly months depending on use. Once discharged that is it. You have to buy again. But say you can get a charger and a set of batteries for £25.00. Over the life of these that is a saving of £3975.Just think what you can spend that on instead of buying disposable batteries.

These have been made for the camera. Yes you can go into a shop quickly and buy a blister pack of 4 batteries, even those you have seen advertised on T.V. as long lasting, but if they do not have the necessary power density then they will only last a very short time or not work at all. There will be times when it is not possible to get to a photo shop for high density batteries so you may have to take what you can get. This has happened to me before I changed to these batteries.
Rechargeable batteries are environmentally friendly.Taking my example above just think of a pile of 4000 ordinary batteries as opposed to just 4 of these.
These batteries are not suitable for a slow over night charger. This may be a problem if you already have an overnight charger. Some slow types will take up to 13hrs to recharge.
I am aware that some types of battery suffer from what was known as crystalisation. This meant that they would not take a full charge or would no take a charge at all. This was overcome by sending a large surge of power into the battery from some chargers.
As far as I can tell, this is not a problem with these batteries. Certainly it has never happened to me in all the time that I have used them.
I suggest that you buy two sets at least for each item that requires them. One set in each and a fully charged spare in the equipment bag. If you have the type of camera that has no internal battery to maintain any time/date stamp for the shots you will want to keep a set in the camera at all times. At home your spares could be stored on trickle charge and inserted before setting out.
There is nothing more frustrating than being in the middle of a shoot and finding your camera shutting down for low power. If it is going to happen. it will be in the worst possible place and at the worst time.(Murphy's law)
Try to remember to check power levels the day before going out for a photo shoot. These batteries should hold their charge for a long while, but it will decrease even if you are not using the camera.Take nothing for granted. I have had a camera read full power on battery and then shut down almost immediately I have started to use it with the power indicator showing very low. My fault for not checking properly.
