The small and compact cubic design of the NSK 1300 allows it to fit into virtually any workspace; at the same time, the inside is spacious enough for your MicroATX motherboard, up to 4 full-height PCI expansion cards, and 4 drive bays. This case is so versatile that it can be used as a multimedia PC for your living room, a desktop PC for your office, or even a mobile gaming box for your next LAN party.

Advantages: Simple elegant design with a cool metalic bronze look Disadvantages: Front door flap may get damaged
...Normally when I buy a case for a new computer, or upgrade for an old one, I choose one based on price. If it's going to be stuck under a desk and no-one is going to see it, so why spend more than necessary? As you may have guessed, I'm not one of the case modders that got to LAN parties and required the latest 'cool' case :-)
However, this time I thought I would spend a little more than normal and get a case that will last. To this end I settled on the Antec SLK2600AMB - the AMB stands for atractive metallic bronze.
What sold me on this case? Hard to say really, it comes with a power supply - 300W, which should be enough for most people - 8 drive bays (5 x 5.25" and 3 x 3.5"), 2 front USB ports and a front flap to cover the external faces of the drive bays, power switch, etc.
The real benefit of the case becomes apparent when you...

Advantages: Quite, quality Disadvantages: Plain design - maybe not for case modders
...Effective air cooling solutions, including an extendible tube to direct CPU heat directly out of the case, 120mm case fan with 3 step speed settings (manually adjusted) which on low speed is very quiet, quite easy access to drive bays, risers etc. HDD fixes into bays with rubber grommits to reduce vibration. For a system with lots of drives/SLI (i.ie. heat output) etc. more fans can be added which does not reduce the internal size too much. Neat and tidy cable/PSU area. Good quality power/reset/USB on case front. AN|D NOT many sharp edges inside. I found the overall build quality very good, even after re-assembling several times it's still very strong. Due to this it does not vibrate even when fans are at full speed and HDD/DVD in full use. Plain, simple, quality and inexpensive...

Advantages: Quality features at an excellent price Disadvantages: None so far!
...I recently purchased this case to give an old PC a new lease of life (and respite from its previous beige incarnation!). I was new to the PC building game, and had been warned that there were numerous poor cases out there, so I was loath to buy an expensive case on the net that would be, well, rubbish!
A review in Custom PC (Issue 32, May '06 cover story) pointed out the SLK1650 by Antec to be a great budget case, with everything required to build a performance machine. I took a punt on this, and ordered through Savastore (their recommended retailer, www.savastore.com). Total cost was £52 delivered, and it arrived by courier 2 days later (big thumbs up to Savastore!).
So what do you get for your money? The first major plus is that it comes complete with a fitted 350W power supply ( a quiet one at that). 350W is more than enough...

As you might expect, it's difficult to write an in-depth review of a case fan without having any expensive equipment to detect airflow and noise, but judging by the way these seem to keep my system cool and stay quiet at the same time, I'd say they're... more
The P182 is, like the P180, a great case for those who want a quiet but high-performance PC. My temperatures in this case were a good 5ºC lower than in my previous case, which I attribute to the separation of the two main heat sources - the PSU and the... more
