How do you make your desktop more interesting??? Add lighting, of course.
Computers really are quite boring looking. Most of them are in the standards colours of grey or black. A cousin of mine came over from America. He’s 19 and gets very bored easily. He was watching me working, when he just blurts out “hey lets put lights on the computer”. I was like, don’t be daft. Why would anyone puts lights on a PC. I shrugged off that idea, thinking it was stupid. But,I was thinking about it. I thought I’d go on the internet to see what I could find. I came across this website, which was advertising antec illuminate light tubes for PC’s. Ah, so it does exist.
They are very cool looking lights. You can put them anywhere on the PC. Antec has different ideas on how to bring a bit of colour to your computer, by tubes lights and LED fans. The fans cover the grill on hard drive. LED light tubes can bring a bit of excitement to your PC or monitor case.
I decided to buy a set. It’s 11.8” long, and can be mounted anywhere on the PC. The colour I chose was blue, the only other that I saw was red, but I thought it looked a bit to chrismasy. Also, the tube is sound activated, which is the best part of it. It pulsates to the beat of music or games played. There are 2 operating modes, steady on or sound activated. It comes with sticky back so you can mount it.
Connection is very simple. The external models come with USB cable and socket, so you just plug it in. You can actually connect it to anything with a USB slot. It doesn’t take much power, so you won’t get a huge electric bill. And basically, once connected, you’re up and running to play around with it.
I’ve left the option to turn the lights on so they react to noise made in the room. They can also be set to give disco effect. The lights stay flashing.
The only problem is that the lights glow very brightly and you may find yourself squinting near the PC.
I bought it from morecomputers.co.uk. It was cost me just under £20 for both the light tube plus postage and packaging. Probably, a but too expensive for an experimental testing, but I couldn’t resist. I had them for about 2 weeks.
I not able to upload any pictures of this, but I will. So, come back in a few weeks to see them. It will also give me a bit more time to see how good these are and update my review.
