...I am so glad I finally bought this device after so many months of scrutinising the competitors. I almost settled on the EM500 until a comparison of specs showed it to be virtually the same in look/effect but an inferior unit in grunt (only 16MB of internal RAM).
EASE OF USE: The E115 is **very** easy to use -- a pulldown Start menu at the top left will get you in or out of any program instantly. The down side is there is no little 'x' at the top right to close your programs, and you can either live with them simply opening on top of each other, eventually slowing you down (or so I'm told), or you can make six (yes six) taps to get to the correct setting option to shut them down. While this sounds immensely annoying, I discovered it wasn't really and I just adapted, only going to close programs when I got to more than three open...

Advantages: Now relatively cheap, clear screen Disadvantages: 'cheese wedge' design
...I would firstly like to say that the rating is given according to the standards of laptops when this was initially made, in the year 2004. Although the K115M may not be the most attractive Sony VAIO laptop to look at, resembling a wedge of cheese from the end, it is definately a reliable work horse. I have been using mine for three years now, without any serious faults or problems. The laptop comes with Windows XP home edition installed, and has a large range of additional software, such as; Norton Internet Security, an Adobe software Package, and various other sony media tools.
The KM115 has a 40GB hard drive (37.2 in reality) which, although small by todays standards, is fine for everyday use. It has 512MB RAM, which is also ample for normal tasks, this is upgradeableto 1GB if you wish for about £50. My favourite feature is the X...

Advantages: high quality prints Disadvantages: far too many errors and problems..
...My first DCP-110C lasted just over 6 months and was replaced by the newer model DCP-115C. All seemed fine and dandy until around 10 months later started having problems again. This printer is a superb all rounder and creates brilliant pictures WHEN IT WORKS.. Had my first printer not been replaced I certainly wouldnt go for a brother again. I was attracted to it due to the cheap inks available as my last printer a Lexmark (which was simply amazing) was just far too expensive for ink.
The DCP-115C keeps failing every so often and when you are lucky enough to get it working(when its in a good mood) you will be pleased with its results. The main fault I am getting now (again) is with the inks. It wont accept new inks for some reason and I have tried numerous cartridges and searched Brothers site for help yet nothing is working yet again...

I had been without a DVD-RW drive for a few weeks since my last drive gave up. The first thing I noticed when looking for a new one was how cheap they are now. The last one I had I'd only paid £35 for thinking that was cheap, but now you can get them for more
Overall what a great machine, especially when you consider the price of £49.99 (Tesco).
Advantages,
Great print quality from both standard printing and photo printing, with superb reproduction of colour.
Quick and quiet printing.
