Advantages: Potentially beautiful sound Disadvantages: The squealy noises to start off with
...classical, but also covering a lot of different folk music (Irish, Hungarian, Chinese etc), many jazzy styles of pieces, and even pop music. I recently saw a music video on MTV of a guy playing violin to a pop song in the rain, although I can't remember the title. So the violin is to suit anyone with taste in a wide range of music.
What size do I need?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As with any instrument, no musical knowledge is required to start playing, just a good teacher is the best thing to have. Violins are available in lots of different sizes, for adults, 4/4 (full size, then 3/4, 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/10, 1/16, and even 1/32 are available. Sizes down to 1/8 should be available from most music shops, the two smaller sizes normally rewuire, specialist violin shops are required. It is important that the correct size is used, if not playability is affected...
Advantages: At the end of the day everytime you play the violin you are rewarded with a beautiful pure sound Disadvantages: Practise!!!!!!
...; Rush
Chew chewing gum
Panic if you make a mistake
When you are playing the violin, stand with your feet apart by about 15-30 cm to keep balance, don’t slouch and always put your head straight forward, otherwise you might start to get neck pains.
When you start to become more advance the styles of music become a wider variety, e.g. pop, Irish, Scottish, Classical etc.
*Styles*
With things like pop, you have to be more advanced although there is some beginners tunes, but with things like classical you can play at any grade or level, because Irish and Classical have beginners tunes and advanced tunes etc. for classical there is a book called: classical violinist, there is a couple of books called this but in different grades or levels.
There are many more types of music, e.g. Jazz, Blues, and Baroque etc.
Advantages: Beautiful instrument, creates a wonderful sound, highly recognised. Disadvantages: Hard to learn, lots of practise needed
...I've been learning the 4/4 (full size) violin for 3 years now. The reason i decided to start leaning this instrument is because, it can, in theory produce a beautiful sound and is an instument which i've seen decline in popularity. I began by leaning the notes of the 4 strings before starting fingering and bowing. I think that it helps to have a good ear to play the violin as it is essential that you can hear when you play a wrong note, as if you move your finger the tiniest bit on a string, it can become a whole different note. To play the violin you need dedication and the ability to practise often. After 3 years, i've come a long way and would recommend learning this beautiful instrument to everyone. A word of warning however-from experience i found that when starting out, the E string is one to be avoided!...
Apparently this is a port of a budget Xbox title, but I have not played it so I can not compare. This is a simple racer where instead of speed you get a Monster Truck. So run over cars, and make stuff go smash? Nope, very little running... more
