Full review
It has been a little while since I have written a review as I have been so busy at university. Anyway, this is the review of Duncan Bannatyne's autobiography called "Anyone Can Do It".

Firstly, let me tell you, I am a huge fan of Bannatyne. I have a keep interest in business and entrepreneurship so book it wasn't a surprise I was going to buy this book as soon as it came out.

Many of you will know Duncan Bannatyne as a business angel from the BBC series called Dragon's Den. He is a Scottish entrepreneur and businessman whose current wealth is estimated at £168 million.

Bannatyne is a highly motivated and hard working man with a natural business mind who is driven by desire to succeed. I cannot think of anyone who deserves the success Bannatyne has earned more than himself. He has truly earned everything he has today and I thoroughly respect him for that.

For those of you who have not heard of the Dragon's Den, it is broadcast on BBC2 and hosted by Evan Davies. Evan Davies is a familiar face on the BBC as the BBC's economics editor. On the Dragon's Den entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to the Dragons and hope to gain financial backing from one or more of them. The concept is simple but is a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting series. So far, the Dragon's Den has had three series and I would expect a fourth to be broadcast next year sometime. The current Dragon's are Duncan Bannatyne, Peter Jones, Theo Paphitis, Deborah Meaden and Richard Farleigh. If you have never seen the Dragon's Den I would highly recommend it.

The following text was taken the BBC website:

"A poverty-stricken childhood steeled Duncan's drive to make his fortune from an early age. He began his entrepreneurial life by trading in cars, but it was with an ice cream van that he changed the course of his life - setting out to become the king of the '99'.

He then switched to nursing homes, becoming a multi-millionaire in the process. Since then Duncan has built up a chain of health clubs called 'Bannatyne's' and also owns Bannatyne's Casino, Bar and Hotels."

The most fascinating aspect of Bannatyne is that he truly earned his wealth. He came from a relatively poverty stricken family and had very little in the way of experience of qualifications. This is what makes his autobiography such an interesting read.

Bannatyne is knows as a ruthless and controversial entrepreneur but this book shows a more sensitive side to him. I really engaged with Bannatyne as I read the book. It is an honest story of his life written from his heart.

I would thoroughly recommend this excellent book. I learned a lot from it and I just couldn't put it down.
