Linksys's Lightning fast wireless router

Advantages: Fast speeds, Reliable, Stylish
Disadvantages: I had wireless problems, Gets a bit warm, no restart router option in config

The Linksys WAG160N N300 is an ADSL2+ wireless modem router, meaning it has a a modem built in. It is for use with BT Internet connections rather than for use with a Cable broadband connection (i.e. Virgin) although a Cable version is also available. It?s an ADSL2 router, which means it supports the newer ADSL standard, which could mean faster transfer speeds although this really depends on your line quality, distance from Exchange, service with ISP, etc. The router currently costs £74.99 from PC World but a bit less at £59.99 on their website. I bought mine about 8 months ago on Ebuyer for around £55. IN THE BOX You receive two ADSL filter s, RJ11 cable, user manual, manual and software CD, power adapter and lastly, the router itself. THE ROUTER ITSELF One thing I quite like about the router is that it looks quite ...

Review of Linksys Wireless-N ADSL2+ Gateway WAG160N - wireless router

Belkin ADSL2+ High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router

Advantages: Very stable, good speed
Disadvantages: Not a pretty boy, yet to get remote admin working

Wireless routers have recently become the bane of my professional life. Having had major issues with 2 (relatively new models) wireless routers from an allegedly top manufacturer that I have been installing and configuring equipment from professionally for over 9 years. 5 replacements under warranty with exact and similar models failed to cure constant lockups and wireless connection drop outs being experienced by my client, often within hours of replacement! Nearing the end of my client's patience, there being little hair on my scalp left to forcibly extract and with my Valium prescription running low, I decided to try the router I have been using without major issue at home for the last 18 months. Mindful of the fact that in my clients environment the router's workload/ feature set usage would be totally different ...

Review of Belkin ADSL2+ Modem with High-Speed Mode Wireless-G Router - wireless router

Great Multimedia Wireless Router from Belkin

Advantages: Reliable, Fast, Easy to configure, Lots of features, USB for sharing drives
Disadvantages: Bit expensive, Not full speed with every machine

of features and even a USB port for sharing files on drives - Lifetime manufacturer's warranty! CONS - Too sensitive to power cuts - A bit expensive - Not full speed on my laptop despite it having a Wireless N network card VERDICT This is one of the best routers I've ever used and it hasn't given me any grief until I had a power cut, which pretty much broke it. However, it survived a further 2-3 power cuts so maybe it was a one off. It is a bit on the expensive side but not as much as business routers. There is another router from Belkin that costs even more than this one but that one tells you your broadband speed and other stuff on a display on the router itself, how cool is that? As for this Belkin N+ modem router, it has all the features you could need and more unless you need VPN (connects you to a network securely over ...
