The Apple Drive Module (ADM) is a hot-swappable Ultra ATA/100 (parallel) hard drive in a special drive carrier module designed for easy server and RAID upgradeability and maintenance. Apple Drive Modules operate at 7200 rpms. Using four 250GB ADMs, the previous generation Xserve (G4 based) can be configured with 1 terabyte of storage. Xserve RAID may be configured with up to fourteen drives, or over 3.5 terabytes of storage, and Xserve RAID scales in performance and capacity with the addition of ADM hard drives. Each ADM has two LED activity lights - one indicating drive activity and one indicating drive status. All Apple Drive Modules support SMART - Self Monitoring and Reporting Technology - allowing the hardware monitoring tools included with Xserve (G4 based) and Xserve RAID to monitor the status of each hard drive and report pre-failure warnings before problems occur. This product is compatible only with Xserve RAID and the prior generation, G4-based Xserve. For new Xserve G5 product, use the Apple Drive Module with Serial ATA only.

Advantages: a joy to use, good software, easy to get to grips with. Disadvantages: not all software is available on the Mac, C4 online for eg.
...it’s way to creating not only electronic devices, but a whole new lifestyle.
In the fall of 2001 consumers saw the rise of the iBook and the PowerBook G4 as new personal and portable computers. Apple had created a digital hub concept where everything was available through Apple making it easier for consumers to decide with PC was better for them because an Apple computer offered it all. And in early 2003 the world was shown the iPod a revolution in the storing of music, for personal use, leading to the iTunes store and leading to more variations of the iPod, with the Nano and the shuffle all becoming prominent in today’s digital market.

Advantages: All in one - slim design - apple osx and ilife etc Disadvantages: expandability
...If your looking for a fast slim computer with a small footprint this is it. You get all the great apple software, tiger, ilife etc. All the ports are easily acessable. If you get the bluetooth option and keyboard and mouse you have hardly any cables at all. (please not the bluetooth mouse does go through batteries though!).
This is just so easy to setup and use. This is how computing should be. I was up and running and on line in about 15mins from getting it out of the box. The setup for Tiger is so easy and you can transfer your old setup from another mac if you have a firewire cable.
I would strongly recommend this to beginners. The large screen is great for DVDs and working on graphics - really bright and clear. It's realy easy to add addtional memory as well.
