will come faster than ever because the newest iMaccomputers are powered by the incredibly fast Intel Core 2 Duoprocessor the latest breakthrough chip that makes the
system for video chatting. You can record a video right at your desk using iMovie HD. And with Photo Booth software you can snap a picture then add fun effects before sharing it over email or saving as your buddy icon. From hard drive to stereo speakers to optical drive and more all the components of the iMac are enclosed within the widescreen flat-panel display. It's thin clean and strikingly gorgeous. The iMac lets you jump right in to the wireless world with two advanced technologies. Standard in all iMac models AirPort Extreme lets you connect to any industry-standard 802.11g-compatible wireless network. And the new Apple Remote lets you do your browsing from anywhere in the room.
Advantages: small, slim, looks cool, works and is fast! Disadvantages: Few niggles with the Intel processors and upgraded and outpriced too quickly
...be easier now though.
My biggest gripe however is with Apple themselves, as 3 days after i bought my iMac they upgraded the same model to a 2GHz processor and doubled the RAM to 1GB (after i had already bougt an upgrade for £40) and then cut the price by over £200!
Other great features that have been very good are built in Bluetooth, Infrared, Airport, Microphone and Webcam. These have been very usefull for transferring files from my phone, using skype to chat and use the webcam...even order a takeaway by talking to my computer.
Overall. i still can't fault them as i have had very little problems with the computer itself and it does everything i need it to do...except let me win at online poker!
If you can get one cheap second hand then all in all, still a great buy...if you can hang on and get a more up to date one, then go for that instead!...

Advantages: Incredible Speed Disadvantages: Very few disadvantages for the casual/light work user
...magnetic and attaches to a small patch on the side of the monitor! Pretty cool!
It also has an in-built iSight camera which is both fun and useful- it works well with the provided video conferencing and 'Photo Booth' apps.
If I had to find a gripe it would be this: the DVD drive is not multi-region out of the box. This can be remedied, however, through several downloadable programs.
I would reccommend it to someone who needs a solid home computer- good for students and anyone who might be bringing a bit of work home now-and-again.
It has the power to run Video editing software (Final Cut Pro, Avid), Photoshop, Internet access is quick and easy (no viruses to worry about!), it holds a mass of media and is speedy to boot. What's not to like?...

Advantages: The Speed of this IS AMAZING Disadvantages: None
...The Apple IMac is a increadible piece of equiptment, and the speed of the processor is out of this world. If anyone is in doubt of choosing either this or a windows based PC, my personal preference would be the apple for the speed and reliability and also without all of the viruses too, and not to forget the stylish design, which makes it stand out and everyone wants one.
It also runs without a sound and loading and shutting down times are amazing. I used to wait 5 minutes for my PC but with this im up on the internet in no time and no matter how much space you have used up with games, songs and files. This also comes with a built in isight camera, which you can play around with.

Advantages: Good price, great design, runs OSX, Windows & Linux Disadvantages: Poor build quality, lack of RAM
...The 1.83Ghz C2D AppleMacBook is a great entry level Mac, and an ideal replacement for the discontinued 12" PowerBook.
However, there are a number of issues you should be aware of:
1. 512MB of RAM is not enough. Whilst it is usable, it is vastly restricted by it's memory. Having put in 2x 1GB sticks (after market, from Crucial, circa £50) it runs like a dream.
2. Screen faults. I have noticed flickering on the screen when running on battery and left idle (it isn't a problem when the computer is in use). I'm told this is a hardware problem.
3. Case issues. I have noticed significant hairline fractures around the bottom of the case. I move the laptop a lot, so this can be expected from the plastic case. These do not look to ever cause a real issue.
Whilst the MacBook has it's faults, it's price range makes it an attractive option...
