The Mac Mini has a very small form factor 6.5"x6.5"x2" which makes it well suited as a Home Theater PC (HTPC) or for desktop use where space is at a premium. I primarily use the mini as an everyday ... ...both on the desk and under a TV.
The Mac Mini is an excellent entry level computer or an introduction to Macs. This is not to say the computer is limited in capabilities. The only real limitation over the mini's bigger brothers, the iMac and Mac Pro is the fact that it's expandability is more restricted. I primarily use the mini as an everyday computer with some HTPC use. The computer looks at home both on the desk and under a TV. The Mac Mini is an excellent entry level computer or an introduction to Macs. This is not to say the computer is limited in capabilities. The only real limitation over the mini's bigger brothers, the iMac and Mac Pro is the fact that it's expandability is more restricted. The stock laptop hard drive is slower than desktop sized hard drives, and the graphics card is integrated meaning gaming performance suffers. Realizing these limitations, the mini is a great deal. For those that already own a G4 mini or even a non Core 2 Duo model, the software alone can be worth upgrading for. OSX 10.5 and iLife 08 are included free and are both significant upgrades to the MAC software base. Together they cost £140 / $208. The resale value on old minis are very high, so it is actually cheaper to sell your old mini and get the latest hardware than to buy the software upgrade. The performance boost will also be very noticeable. OSX 10.5 now supports Linux apps natively and has bootcamp which allows the user to install a copy of Windows XP or Vista onto the mini and run it natively as fast as an equivalent speced PC. This means the Mini or any Intel Mac with OSX 10.5 can be used to run applications on all 3 major platforms making Macintosh's a very good value. There is no longer any need to own a Windows machine to run programs that are only supported on Windows. If you are after a small computer, a HTPC, a reasonably priced computer, or a way to run MAC linux and Windows software all from the same computer, the mini is a great choice.
Advantages: Small and good value Disadvantages: not as powerful as most other Macs
...it does come with an apple remote, which is very useful, it does not work on all the online media players (does work with quick time and various things such as itunes. As well as the remote it comes with a DVI to VGA adapter, this allows you to connect a three row adapter or VGA to the DVI port on the back. It will work with any keyboards, mice or most other peripherals so there is no need to spend unnecessary amounts of money on apple products like ... ...the job done it is not the fastest but ideal for a first computer, a home entertainment system or a novelty item. The apple on the top does not light up by the way so dont think it is broken, it is an effective but basic computer packed with features. ...

A cheap mac for everyone, which still maintains its powerful features. After I bought a mac mini, I never go back to other computers, This is so perfect for eveyone and I really tell you now. Once you go Mac you will never go back. Why?
1. It is very powerful - it gives you the power you wanted, because of its dual core processor. You can even use it as a server and still powerful.
2. Compact/Portable - you can carry it, put it anywhere
3. Connectivity ... ...plug it and It adopts it, you don't need to search for drivers, because it knows all devices that you put onto it. Except non-mac devices of course.
4. Lighweight - a very light computer that can be easily carry around.
5. Built-in videocard is already awesome, no need to buy a videocard if your not into game.
6. Colors, once your inside the Mac OS X , whatever display you have, a regular monitor that also for PC, a mac Display or a T.V., You ...

...that I should get an apple computer, but stubbornly I always resisted as I thought I should stick to what I know. That was until I used an apple mac. This mini core duo is an inexpensive way to get onto the apple ladder, and you wont be disappointed. Straight out of the box, it looks very stylish and would compliment any home cinema or music system. For such a small unit, the apple packs quite a punch, with ports such as USB and ethernet, wi-fi and ... ...and hoped that it works. Apple seems to just work like a PC doesn't. It's not perfect though. The sheer size of it means that it will be very hard to upgrade, and I have read that there is some poor image processing. I am not saying this mac will play the latest games with ease, or allow numerous movie editing, but if your looking for a second computer for entertainment purposes, then look no further. ...

Advantages: Size, plenty of processing power can be upgraded if needed Disadvantages: 802.11n still not implemented
...can be used as a Apple TV replacement as well...
Overall, Mac Mini is a great performer that can easily blend with your living room , small, stylish and capable of delivering all that you might expect from a top shelf home cinema systems...for the fraction of the price... ...

Mac Mini is a Great Computer. Very small and compact, very attractive design as you have expected form Apple.
No more heavy and clunky desktop taking over space, this is a great solution for small home and office space. It's also easily become portable. It's as good as it gets. It has all the great feature that G5 power Mac and MacBook Pro. OSX is very dependable and very seldom it ever have trouble shoot. Mac Mini has excellent features and compatible with creative softwares. It also shines when it comes to it's graphic quality and creative projects. Apple computer tends to be bit over priced, but Mac Mini is affordable and it delivers all the things you need. ...
