I purchased my imac a couple of years age and say I am still impressed by it. If you have never had the chance to use one I would recomend you go along to a dealer and try one out. I use a PC at work but have an imac G4 for home use, and not being biased or a snob I would say the imac is an easier platform to use. The digital software installed itunes,iphotos,imovie, and idvd is a great package and so easy to use and it is great fun making up movies from your camcorder and producing dvd'd for family especially at xmas and for birthdays etc. The imac is also very compact with its movable screen it is a great piece of design. The only negative thing I have to say about it is it's lack of ports I have an external hard drive if I need extra storage but apart from that I would say go along and try one out for a couple of hours before you buy your next PC, I'm sure you will be pleasently surprised.
