Advantages Crystal clear screen, ease of use, brilliant software, STUNNING looks

Disadvantages None so far (6months use)

The first thing you will notice when you see the i-Mac are the stunning looks and the complete lack of wires compared to most PC's. The i-Mac has all the components required in the screen itself, including the slot loading superdrive. This makes for an uncluttered and very attractive computer. Personally I have a Bluetooth mouse and keyboard with wireless Internet meaning the only cable in sight is the one mains power cable plugged into the i-mac.

The 17" TFT screen is crystal clear and the brightness and angle can be adjusted to suit any environment. You will never watch a DVD on a bog standard TV again.

If you are looking at a Mac and a PC there is seriously only one choice and that is to choose the Mac. This is coming from someone who has been using a PC all my life! If you are sick and tired of windows crashing and "This program has performed an illegal operation" messages appearing whenever you click on the wrong icon then look no further than the Mac with its excellent Mac OS operating system. It is more stable and ultimately much more logical than windows will ever be. Rather than writing patches to cover problems in the programming Apple actual remove the problem and fix it making for a much slicker and quicker operating system.

If anyone is looking at buying a Mac but are not sure if they could make the change from a PC then worry no more. It is extremely easy to use both Mac's and PC's even for the basic user. You will soon find yourself wondering just why all computers are not set up the same way as Mac OS systems. They are much more logical and simplified compared with the overcomplicated PC structure. If there was ever proof that the Mac OS system is better then look no further than the new and much hyped Windows Vista, it is a direct copy of the Mac system. You can even use windows on a Mac now if you miss it too much!

If there are worries about software and not knowing the Mac software then stop worrying now as most of the main Microsoft software is now available for Mac. The only slight down side to having office in particular on the Mac is the fact that the short cuts are all different from the PC version that will irritate the more advanced users. The rest of the software in the Apple stable is mind blowing if you are using it for any form of graphic design or web site design. Photo editing is also phenomenal with the recent release of the updated Aperture software.

This may appear a very pro Mac review but ever since I changed to a Mac at home 6 months ago I just haven't looked back. I would recommend the switch to anyone who is even vaguely thinking about it and for those with the older Macs the new Duo Core 2 is ridiculously quick! (After using a friends older Mac I couldn't believe how much faster the new core is!)

If only I could use a Mac at work too……………!
