drive to be electrically isolated from each other so that drives don't compete for bandwidth and utilize a protocol that enables fast data transfer to and from the hard drive - 3.0 gigabytes of data per second. Mac OS X Server includes AppleRAID providing RAID 0 and 1 support through software allowing you to increase either data redundancy or performance. Xserve features on-line rebuilding of RAID 1 volumes and is able to boot from RAID volumes. Choose any combination of mirroring or striping across the three drive bays. RAID configurations require a minimum of two ADM hard drives. For higher capacities consider an Xserve RAID with an Apple Fibre Channel PCI card.
The Apple Drive Module (ADM) is a hot-pluggable hard drive in a special drive carrier module designed for easy server upgradeability and maintenance. Apple SAS Drive Module operates at 15,000 rpm and is equipped with 16MB of disk cache.

Advantages: a joy to use, good software, easy to get to grips with. Disadvantages: not all software is available on the Mac, C4 online for eg.
...it’s way to creating not only electronic devices, but a whole new lifestyle.
In the fall of 2001 consumers saw the rise of the iBook and the PowerBook G4 as new personal and portable computers. Apple had created a digital hub concept where everything was available through Apple making it easier for consumers to decide with PC was better for them because an Apple computer offered it all. And in early 2003 the world was shown the iPod a revolution in the storing of music, for personal use, leading to the iTunes store and leading to more variations of the iPod, with the Nano and the shuffle all becoming prominent in today’s digital market.

Advantages: Fast machine for its time, easy to maintain Disadvantages: Now replaced by the Mac Pro Intel machines
...the memory slots and drive bays is very easy - much easier than most Windows machines I've dealt with.
The machine has a full range of USB and Firewire connections both on rear and front panels. It comes with Gigabyte Ethernet Connectivity. You get a DVR-R writer and 160G SATA harddrive. The case is almost like a piece of sculptor! Internally you also have PCI-Express slots but there are very few suppliers of these cards for Apple machines.
Our machine has been running in an Art gallery supporting two different video installations for the last 5 months without any problems and we'll install Mac OSX Server on it to use as a web server in future.
So if Apple UK still has stock or they have some refurbished machines AND you still need a 64bit PPC machine, the Power Mac G5 Dual might be for you....

For the best part of 5 years my MP3 player has been part of my mobile phone, for whatever reason (I can't explain it myself) I have felt the need to separate the two for some time; however I never really liked any MP3 player on the market. And let me... more
