The new macbook has an impressive specification list,
Prices start from £929 for the 2.0GHz option which include Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR3 Memory, 160GB hard drive1, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, Standard keyboard, Aluminium unibody.
Or you can pay a little bit more (£1,125) and get 2.4GHz including 2.4GHz, Intel Core 2 Du, 2GB DDR3 Memory, 250GB hard drive1, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics, Illuminated keyboard and Aluminium unibody.
I own the 2.4GHz option which includes the illuminated keyboard (great for using the laptop in the dark!)
This is my first laptop and my first Apple product and I love it.
I have owned it since December 2008 and the transformation from windows to mac was seamless.
The mac does everything with ease and actually works for you rather than making you work for it, like a pc can make you feel!
It is light and compact and offers loads of standard great programmes including Iphoto and Imovie, which allow you to edit and record your movies and photographs.
The new mac also allows you to rotate the photos using the trackpad, just by turning your fingers, which by the way also lets you click anywhere on the pad rather than being restricted.
Three fingers swipe between windows, two scroll down and four rotate pics.
As I am a journalist I also purchased the pages, numbers and keynote,
These are really good programmes for writing, putting together spreadsheets and making presentations.
Safari is a lot more efficient than say Windows explorer, and because it is a mac there is little to no worry of viruses, (hardly any have been developed to attack macs plus the firewall is very strong)
Internet speed obviously varies depending on your ISP but the speed of the laptop itself is second to none, you blink and the programme will be open.
The laptop also looks for updates to your software so you will never be behind or have to screw it open to update it!
The sound quality from Itunes is amazing and really loud, since having it I have actually removed my hi-fi because I don't need it!
The laptop is so light and stylish and much better than any other standard laptop.
If you want to be creative and aren't scared of change then spend a bit extra and grab a mac, I can guarantee you will not regret it!!

...other reviews I'm a big apple fan, I also have an iMac and an iPod Touch. But to be honest I was a little disappointed at apple for this product. Ease of Use Now this being an apple product it is very easy to use, I've always thought that you could hand an apple mac to somebody who has never even heard of a computer and they could instantly be able to use it. This macbook lives up to that, even somebody with no experience of computers could ... ...even with my student discount. Apple really did however manage to make a great looking macbook here. Speed Now being the basic range of laptops that apple mac (the top range being the macbook pro's) don't expect to get this to play high resource draining games, as if you do your in for a surprise. I have just about managed to play games on this, all be it not very CPU hungry ones, but even playing these the macbook struggles. Be prepared to ...

I have fully enjoyed my experience with my Macbook so far; I have had no issues with performance or battery (though it could be longer) and it just looks so nice! Stunning resolution just makes the experience more enjoyable, and 2.4 GHz runs like a dream.
First time buyers I sincerely recommend, students going to Uni I sincerely recommend, in fact, everyone should invest in one of these; they are just that good. However, games are not the biggest ...

Definitely an excellent buy!! I've recently started uni and this macbook was my first investment. All classmates have them and they are unmistakably the preferred choice to an ordinary pc. Slightly different to how a normal pc functions but quick and easy to get used to. I haven't had any problems and have loved it since the day i bought it. I have been a Windows user for as long as I can remember, but last year I started to read up about changing to a mac. Nearly every review said how good mac's are. I finally bought this macbook in November and have been amazed at its speed and reliability. The macbook has not once crashed, starts up and shuts down in seconds unlike my pc where I am still waiting 3 mins later. I thought that changing from a pc to a mac would be difficult, as the layout ... ...difference is definitely a positive, its simple and very easy to use. You can even get a version of office, so that you can still use the familiar word, excel etc. I notice that some of the other reviews comment that the battery does not last very long, but I find that mine last for more than 4 hours. I think that is excellent.
If you are looking to buy a new laptop I would definitely recommend that you purchase a mac, it may cost more than a windows ...

Open your MacBook and you're instantly greeted by glorious full screen brightness. Anything you view, including the glossy widescreen display itself, is a spectacular experience. The LED-backlit display is more power efficient. And it's mercury- and arsenic-free, so it's greener than ever.
