I have owned this computer since November. Hands down, the best computer I have ever owned. Since I was young, Apple computers had always interested me. I finally saved up enough money to get one. I doubt I will ever buy a Windows based PC ever again.

Many people are worried when considering purchasing a Mac, especially when coming from a Windows world. It doesn't take long to get used to Mac OS X. Leopard is marketed as the world's most advanced operating system, but at the same time it is surprisingly easy to use.

Every new Macintosh computer comes with the iLife suite. iLife includes the following programs:

iPhoto: For organizing and editing photos.
iMovie: Advanced movie editing program.
Garageband: For making music. Also comes with royalty free music and loops.
iWeb: For designing websites. Comes with some excellent free templates.
iDVD: Allows you to design DVD menus for your homes movies.
iTunes: Music library program. Can be used to buy music, videos and rent movies from the iTunes music store, which is the most popular online music download service. Can also be used to sync music, videos and photos to your iPod or iPhone.

I don't know how I managed without iLife. It seems like a necessity on my computer now. Nothing comes close to the iLife suite.

I would recommend reading some reviews on iLife 09 to get some more info on these programs. There are some great interactive videos on the Apple website.

Apple computers are known for their style. The Macbook is a very attractive computer. I often get glances when using this outside or in Coffee shops. Very few Windows based PCs are stylish.

The keyboard is very good. At first I didn't really like it. There is about a 1 mm space between each key. However, this has really grown on me. I find myself making less mistakes when typing on this, compared to conventional keyboards.

Apple laptops, including the Macbook come with the MagSafe power connection. Basically the power cable is connected to the computer via a magnet. This is quite useful. If somebody trips over the cable while the computer is on a desk, the cable will simply come out of the computer, as apposed to sending the computer flying across the room and against a wall.

The Macbook comes with WiFi inbuilt. This allows you to connect to wireless hotspots and browse the internet. The Macbook also has bluetooth inbuilt. This allows you to connect to bluetooth devices such as mobile phones. Apple's wireless keyboards and mice also connect to the Macbook using bluetooth which means you won't have to have ugly dongles sticking out the side of your computer.

There is also a webcam above the screen. This is called the iSight. It can be used to record videos and for instant messaging services that support web cameras. The iSight also includes a microphone.

The Macbook comes with a small remote control that can be used to control the 'Front Row' software. Front Row allows you to play music, videos, view pictures and play DVDs.

The Macbook also seems to be very durable. I bought the Macbook for it's portability and it is with me all the time. It also survived having a pint of Vimpto spilled on it, although I wouldn't recommend doing this.

Although a very powerful machine, the Macbook is also very portable. I cary this around in my bag all the time. I use it in coffee shops all the time to do work, and browse the internet. The battery is also very good. On power saving settings and doing something like work processing or web browsing, I can get up to 3.5 hours of battery life.

The hard drive and the RAM are user serviceable. My machine came with 1GB of ram which I upgraded to 4GB. I will also be upgrading the hard drive soon.

Overall this is a very good computer and I would definitely recommend buying it.

Great review. I have what appears to be the same model MacBook as this review, and love it. I've had Macs since the mid-1990s and am completely fanatical about them, finding them a joy to use and way preferable to PCs.
