This is my first Mac and to say I am amazed is an understatement, this laptop is simply the bomb, everything you could wish for, Fast, Cool and very nice to look at. It has a lighted keyboard making working in low light conditions a breeze. It has 2 USB ports , a FireWire 400 and 800 port and a DVI Port for the best connectivity possible by current standards. The included software is superb, the Magnetic Power Connector is nice and makes using it near animals or small children no problem, if the brush past it, it simply pulls out without risk of knocking the laptop off. I bought my macbook pro six mounths ago, and I have to say I did so with a heavy heart: the cost is high, and it is well known that these latest gadgets are shortlived. Wow I was wrong. Six mounths later (and slightly wiser) I have realised that this is not the case - a product so outstanding will not be old news for at least two years. I spent a very long time contemplating the move from PC to mac and since the transfer I haven't looked back. My main apprehension to buying the mac was the limited video card power in comparison to some of the leading PC Laptops. Everything else was equal or a plus on the mac side. Try and get to look at one before you buy online to judge whether you would prefer a matt or glossy screen. My first Mac. I really didn't know anything about Macs except that I was ready for something new. I had been toying with Linux on a trusty IBM thinkpad for a while and eventually gave up, just not enough peripheral support back then. I had a couple of Sony Vaios lying around, but I was loathe to try and fix them - they had given me too much trouble already.
