This is my first Mac and to say I am amazed is an understatement, this laptop is simply the bomb, everything you could wish for, Fast, Cool and very nice to look at. It has a lighted keyboard making working in low light conditions a breeze. It has 2 USB ports , a FireWire 400 and 800 port and a DVI Port for the best connectivity possible by current standards. The included software is superb, the Magnetic Power Connector is nice and makes using it near animals or small children no problem, if the brush past it, it simply pulls out without risk of knocking the laptop off.
This is the Core 2 Duo version of the MacBook Pro that is Cooler and Slightly faster than the Previous model, the other major differences between this and the older models is the Cache 4 Meg vs 2meg and the addition of 128 Bit SSE making this equal to greater than the Famed Velocity Engine in the Power PC based Macs this makes applications run faster and enables a much richer multimedia experience.
It also has Draft 802.11n Wireless Networking for greater Speeds and Range when Comared to 802.11g, this makes streaming movies over a home network a reality and greatley improves Networking.
You get ilife 06 which includes iPhoto, iMovieHD, iDVD, iWeb and GarageBand for the best multimedia experience possible enabling you to create websites, home movies and produce podcasts and music. you also get Address Book , Calendar and Safari(Like internet Explorer), the software bundles in OS X is amazing and great value, Windows has and will never have such a rich software base to get you started.
FrontRow is the icing on the cake giving you the slickest of interfaces for your music, videos and photos all this is possible with the easy to use apple remote. It also has a built in iSight webcam which is nice, you can have hours of fun with friends and family using PhotoBooth to make amusing pictures of yourself.
Dashboard is a sort of heads up display which you invoke by pressing F12, here you can add sticky note widgets, weather widgets and calculator widgets, there are hundreds more available for download.
Expose` enables you at the press of a hotkey to see all windows on the desktop at once and scales them all to fit.
It all works flawlessly out of the box with no hassles to worry you, no crashes, no viruses and most importantly its not got windows on it.
Since moving over to the Mac Platform i have found myself being so much more productive, not having to worry about drivers and the like. If you are thinking of buying one, stop. Just go and get it you will not regret it.
In the box you get a MacBook Pro or course :) a 85W MagSafe Power Adapter, AC wall plug, and power cord a Lithium-polymer battery a Apple Remote a DVI to VGA adapter the install/restore DVDs and Printed and electronic documentation.

Advantages: looks great. Works great Disadvantages: It is HOT - no, really it can get very hot sometimes
...that when you by an apple mac, you buy for style and ease of use and boy does this deliver, from the stunning simplistic design, to the magnetic charger the macbook is possible the most userfriendly laptop out there. And this is only the hardware - (not to mention the specs) - the software also packs a powerful punch. However there are two things to consider when considering this product: it is HOT - yes metaphorically - but I mean it does seem to ... ...in bed and rest it on the sheets. The other thing to look out for is for all its quality, the battery time leaves a little to be desired.
But doen't take the above 'faults' as too much of a huge thing beause I really had to think hard to come up with the 'other side' of the 'arguement' ...

A beautiful design Review ofApple MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.16 GHz - 15.4" TFTby

Advantages: lightweight, long battery life, ready to go video editing, powerfull machine Disadvantages: Video card could be stronger, average speaker sound
I spent a very long time contemplating the move from PC to mac and since the transfer I haven't looked back. My main apprehension to buying the mac was the limited video card power in comparison to some of the leading PC Laptops. Everything else was equal or a plus on the mac side. Try and get to look at one before you buy online to judge whether you would prefer a matt or glossy screen. I bought a matt screen because I use the laptop for design ... ...lights. This machine is beautifully designed and weighs in at under half the weight of the desktop replacement laptops. If you are looking for a high spec gaming laptop I would say look elswhere, If you want a sleek laptop for graphics, video, editing, email and general word processing tasks, I really wouldn't look anywhere else. ...

Advantages: Reliable and powerful Disadvantages: None, (although some may find the price steep)
What can i say other than, WOW!!!! I am not a recent convert (6 years and counting), but this is the first laptop/computer that i have bought brand new, and i can say without a shadow of a doubt the best computer i have ever used. Being a mac user already, i was aware of the ease at which these computers can be used, but was shocked by the speed and precision that these new gens work at. From when you first turn the laptop on, every action is a logical ... ...do exactly what they say they will; the ronseal of the computer world! The included ilife is a godsend, i make everyday use of itunes, ical, iphoto and address book, and find the compatibility between these programs and external devices (specifically mobiles) is a dream. Havent lost a mobile phone i needed since i bought this laptop. In short, all i can say is that if you want a computer that is reliable, durable, will not be outdated in 2 weeks ...

Advantages: Better than a pc Disadvantages: -
...so I didn't realize that Apple has turned the glowing apple around. This is to make it show straight from the back when the screen is open. Because of it however, for the first few times I was trying to open the laptop from the wrong end. I like the straight apple on the back, so no complaints. When opening the screen I had to realize that there is a certain angle that you can't tilt the screen further. Basically you can't put the screen flat on ... ...will need to keep pressing Apple and + in Safari to get bigger fonts. Also, because of this very same issue, when designing for the web, font sizes need to be checked on a different monitor, because they may look small and sexy on the MacBook Pro, but will be slightly too big on an average screen. There is a very good reason why this machine is done from aluminum. There is a lot of heat that needs to be taken away from the inside of the machine. ...

Manufacturer's product description
The Intel Core Duo chip inside MacBook Pro gives you the power of two processors wherever you go. Now it's a breeze to render complex 3D models, enjoy smooth playback of 1080p HD video, or host a four-way videoconference. If you need to present to a group, or you'd like to just watch MacBook Pro from across your hotel room, you've got everything you need. With the Front Row interface and Apple Remote, you're free to sit or stand across the room and present photos, movies and music at the click of your remote. A full-scale iSight camera built at the top of the MacBook Pro's display means you're ready for video conferencing via iChat wherever you are - no cords or cameras to plug in or carry around. Mobile users will love the new MagSafe Power Adapter featuring a magnetic DC plug that both ensures a tight connection and enables a clean break from the power port when there is undue tension. It prevents the MacBook Pro from being pulled off of a desk when the cord is accidentally tripped over, and it protects the power cord from wear and tear.
