Advantages Advantages Fast, great graphics, light up keyboard, memory, robust, pretty

Disadvantages Disadvantages Noisy fan if too many programs are running.

One word: Amazing! I've always been slightly envious of Mac owners in the past, wishing I had enough money to afford one for myself. I've found that over the past 5 years, I've been buying a laptop every year! I sat and thought to myself, in the long-term over the next 5 years, I can carry on buying cheap, unreliable laptops, or I can invest in a decent, good quality laptop, and actually end up saving money, even though the initial investment is a lot more! Fortunately I am a student and Apple offers great student discounts of 15%, so I managed to get mine for about £900, including 3 years ... more

I recently bought myself a Macbook pro for general use around the house, for pleasure rather than anything else. Now I appreciate that apple has inflated prices due to the brand and everything that comes with them. But the MacBook is simply put the best notebook I have ever used! The first thing I would recommend you do if you buy one of these is read the instructions around the finger motions you can make on the mouse pad. The basic ones are fairly intuitive but some of the others need to be looked at but do make using it so much easier, smoother and quicker and is a good investment of your ... more

Before I bought my Macbook Pro, the only experience I had of Mac OS X was on the college iMacs. The reason I bought my Macbook Pro was because it would come in handy a lot for when I move away to university and Mac's are far better for photo and movie editing and that is what I need it for most. Speed I was amazed at how fast it was, even when you've got quite a few applications/programs open. It never seems to slow down unless you've got an excessive amount of stuff open. I have yet to experience it crashing which is impressive and is one of the reasons I rate it so highly. You can get on ... more

I needed a new laptop for when I start my nursing course in September and was debating between a windows laptop of a apple mac.Ii choose an apple mac book pro and am overly pleased with the purchase and am really glad of my decision. I have had it for a while now and really love it. I still find different things that you can do with it and it never seems to amaze me! The whole look of the laptop is great, it looks really smart. It is a neat size, can easily be carried around and doesn't look messy on my desk. there are many different cases you can buy to slip it into to make it easier to ... more

I have had my mac now for a year and found it very reliable and a powerful computer. I bought it off Amazon for £850. Apple Mac have done well with this product and it takes a lot to compete with this product. Before i had non mac computer and it was slow and had a lot of viruses and problems. However, Safari on the mac is excellent and overcome 99.5% of viruses and there is no need to buy anti-virus for mac. However, there is mac anti-virus protection out there for a piece of mind. The roll pad takes a while to get use to but is just as effective as the mouse. If you like to double click and ... more

Is the MacBook worth the £1000 price tag??

Hi, I'm looking to buy one of these for myself, and I was just wandering wether or not it is worth the price tag? I am looking at other places that sell them to get one hopefully (touch-wood) and a slightly cheaper price.
