Advantages Great iLife programs, Isight camera, Fun and easy to use.

Disadvantages Extreme heat, Slightly small hard drive.

I bought this for all the amazing creative programs this has on. You can probably tell by my profile that I love music. So I decided to get this for the garageband program that is included.

First of all, this laptop looks great. When ever a family member or friend sees it they always comment on how nice it looks. It's the perfect size and is very easy to carry around the house.

I thought the screen size would be a bit small (being used to a 19" desktop screen), but it really wasn't. It's very easy to get used to. Recently I added another desktop so I have extended the length of it (sorry, it's quite hard to explain). But even without the extra length it's great.

Buying a Mac meant that I had to switch to using Mac OSX instead of Windows. It's really easy to navigate around and it seems to 'flow' a lot more than windows.

The programs that come with this are really amazing. Garageband is an amazing piece of kit. It's really professional and is like a simpler (maybe better) version of Cubase. I know that my Bass guitar teacher absolutely loves this program and favours it to others! I don't have much experience with Iphoto but the one thing I noticed it lacked was 'Paint' like features (This is also a feature that is missing from the mac as a whole!). Imovie HD is a great piece of kit. I use it to cut down videos. I have had a mess around with the video and audio effects you can add and they are all great!

One of my favourite features is the built in Isight camera. Photo booth is a great feature with loads of effects and makes pictures lots of fun. The Isight is also great for applications like Skype, the video runs really smoothly and there's also a microphone built in too.

The hard drive space on this is acceptable, although a little small for me because I have a fair amount of music and other large files. So I'm going to have to buy an External hard drive or replace the current one in my mac which I don't really want to do.

The power cable sometimes worries me, the actual pack which is about half way down the cable gets extremely hot when it's in for long periods of time. I'm sure this is perfectly normal but heat on electrical products is always pretty worrying. The bottom of the mac also gets quite hot, so it is probably best to have it on a flat surface so it can get some ventilation to the bottom.

Oh, there's something I remember about Iphoto, I was really impressed with this. On Iphoto you can get a set of photos you want in an album put them in a folder. Then with a click of a button you can order the pictures to be printed, organized and put in a real photo book. You get to choose exactly how the book looks and everything! My Bass teacher did this whole process and the results were phenomenal.

I was slightly disappointed that it was not compatible with normal desktop monitors. This is understandable because the connector would need to be pretty small anyway. I recently bought a converter for about £15 that lets me use any normal monitor.

Also, one problem I can never seem to get used to is the lack of .exe compatibility. No windows programs work on mac! I can't stand it. I guess I should have been expecting it as I was changing to a totally new operating system but I never thought it would be this annoying. There are ways around it though, sometimes there is a mac version of the same program and sometimes there are other programs similar to the one you were looking for but for mac instead... It's all just a google search away!

That's all I can think of for now! It's late, give me a break! :D
