...i have just purchased one of these coming from having a hp laptop for 2 years. I think that the apple is brilliant for money there are so many different things that you can do with it as i am a bit of a poser i think the photo booth is brilliant as there are so many different styles to use. the price is directly from the apple us store is $1499.00 and directly fom the apple uk store is £829.00 As my dad works away alot he always uses his apple it is all capatible for the programs he has to use and all the time he says it performs very good and never goes wrong on him and how good the presentations he can make on it. i gave the item 4 stars because i think that the item it well worth the money and it always performs as well as it should.... ...The 1.83Ghz C2D Apple MacBook is a great entry level Mac, and an ideal replacement for the discontinued 12" PowerBook. However, there are a number of issues you should be aware of: 1. 512MB of RAM is not enough. Whilst it is usable, it is vastly restricted by it's memory. Having put in 2x 1GB sticks (after market, from Crucial, circa £50) it runs like a dream. 2. Screen faults. I have noticed flickering on the screen when running on battery and left idle (it isn't a problem when the computer is in use). I'm told this is a hardware problem. 3. Case issues. I have noticed significant hairline fractures around the bottom of the case. I move the laptop a lot, so this can be expected from the plastic case. These do not look to ever cause a real issue. Whilst the MacBook has it's faults, it's price range makes it an attractive option... Read review

...After owning a Powerbook G4 previously, I needed a replacement - I looked around and considered buying a Sony Vaio - but ended up back with Apple and purchased the MacBook Core 2 Duo with Intel processor. I went for the smallest one of the 3 - only because it was purely for home use. I only use it for surfing the internet, downloading pictures and music so I did not need to much memory. Plus I have an external hardrive should I need to free up space. The software you get with a Mac is excellent -everything is much more 'friendly' compared to Microsoft - OK, Vista has arrived - but when you look at it Apple was doing all that years ago! Plus Apple have a new software edition called Tiger which comes out October 2007 which will knock socks off Vista.
