Apple's Midas touch has extended into the rather dry subject of home storage and backup solutions. Having tried other products in the past I can clearly see the appeal of the Time Capsule.
Visually it is sleek and stunning with its gloss white exterior. It is incredibly easy to set up both on a Mac and PC although Mac users will find it easier because of Apples Time Machine software. If you did want to expand the already mammoth storage space you can plug in an external hard drive using the USB port. Another great feature is that he Time Machine can serve as its own wireless network but I have found the best solution is to augment it to a wireless route.
I'm not sure if you can call it a disadvantage but if you are looking for a storage drive for your media files etc to be accessed by multiple devices then this may not be the right solution for you. Because of some clever engineering the hard drive 'spins down' and shuts off when it's not in use so you don't get the quick and responsive file access that you might want if you were planning on playing movies and music.
That said, this perfectly fine for storing files as well as automated backups so on all counts well worth the extra money.
