As a long-time Windows PC user I had some qualms about buying the Apple, however I was so frustrated with Windows and the unreliability of PC hardware that I decided to take the gamble.
After nearly a year I can't imagine ever going back to Windows.
The Powerbook is sleek, reasonably light and fast. The display is excellent, being in the wide-screen format, and DVDs play very well in full-screen mode.
Some people complain that there's little software for the Macintosh platform. I couldn't disagree more. If you are familiar with Microsoft Office, you can run that on a Mac and have easy interchangeability with those less fortunate who have to still run windows.
An exceptional amount of software comes free with the PowerBook - iLife for one which includes iPhoto for cataloging digital photos, GarageBand for musicians, iTunes for storing, playing and buying online music, iDVD for making your own DVDs and iMovie for the director in us all.
The Interface is very easy to use and there are currently no viruses, trojans or spyware that affect the Macintosh.
