Advantages Advantages Brilliant screen, fast, runs Windows too

Disadvantages Disadvantages Virtually none, but not good for DIY upgrades.

Introduction I was walking through some wood on the Scottish Borders one day when we came across a cottage where we saw a Cavalier King Charles sitting on a chair in the sun, and a gentleman working on a computer. We got chatting about the dog (as we also have a Cavalier) and the conversation inevitable turn the his computer which happened to be an iMac 2.4GHz, 24" Core 2 Duo model being used for photography and graphics. The gentleman showed me some of his work on the iMac and that convinced me that I should give up my Windows PC and to switch to MAC for my main uses of photo and video. If I ... more

Advantages Advantages Mac quality and styling, plus the ability to run as a Mac or PC

Disadvantages Disadvantages Not the best machine for serious gamers

Yes I know that the title sounds like a contradiction in terms, but please read on and hopefully all will become clear..... Being new to the world of the Mac (I have used DOS/Windows for more than 25 years) I decided to wait until I had owned this computer for a couple of months before writing this review. I am glad that I did as the transition to Mac OSX can create a few problems for long time Windows users, and could well have coloured my opinion. Having said that it is probably no worse than "upgrading" from XP to Vista. Things are done slightly differently on OSX and can be confusing at ... more

Advantages Advantages LCD Screen; extremely quiet; operating system in a class of its own; supplied with iLife 08

Disadvantages Disadvantages supplied as standard with 1GB RAM - this is not enough

There are two factors to consider when, as a previous PC user you are considering purchasing an iMac for the first time 1) The hardware 2) The software And only one factor to consider when, as a previous Mac user you are looking to upgrade to the latest generation iMac 1) The hardware So let's talk about the hardware first: In a word, it's a fantastic piece of kit. Its quiet (very quiet), the screen is absolutely stunning, the remote control that comes with it is extremely helpful and works very well, the idea of having a USB port on the side of the keyboard is a great one and again very ... more

    Advantages Advantages Superfast, quick

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Huge screen

Having bought this item 2 months ago, I'm amazingly satisfied with it. It has the ability to support both, Microsoft Windows, XP & Vista along with the obvious Mac OS X Operating System. The product has amazing speed even though it is only 1 GB of memory. I love all the little features that come with it, such as the built in i-Sight webcam. Built in digital audio, and the funky little remote that allows you to sit in bed/or your chair and watch you're favourite DVD without having to get up, to change the volume, chapter etc. The image quallity is absouletly out of this world. I played a ... more

Advantages Advantages There arnt harderly any wires

Disadvantages Disadvantages There could be an update to 3.06GHZ

Where can i start with this product, its faultless in my eyes. Everything from the price to the design is amazing. You get 2.4GHz which is pleanty for anyone using this at home, but could possible by auchward if you have lots of application open. Also there is no mess at all unlike other desktop pcs as the imac only has one wire excluding the mouse and keyboard all of which you have the option of purchasing wirelesss ones. It saves all the frustration involved it sorting out wires. Also it comes with front row which allows you to do things like watch movies or photos like you are at the ciema ... more
